Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

Well done mate :D I think it has been done before' date=' by Sky Blue Gould? Can't remember haha.

Also, just to add. I am going to add a Super 6 Knockout Tornament to go alongside Super 6 :) No extra predictions will be needed and it will not affect the normal super 6.

Basically say we have exactly 40 players, and 10 rounds (2nd half of Super 6). The lowest so many players in the first week would be knocked out, then the remaining players go through to the next week (Everyone still predicts every week for Super 6). Then so many players get knocked out very week until the final week :) I hope this could spark some rivalries ;)

I'm thinking of various formats, but one so far is:

Week 1: Lose half of the players (eg. 40 cuts down to 20)

2: Quarter leave (20 down to 15)

3: Third leave (15 down to 10)

4: 2 leave (10 down to 8)

5: 2 leave (8 down to 6)

6: 1 leaves - 6 down to 5

7: 1 leaves - 5 down to 4

8: 1 leaves - 4 down to 3

9: Semi final - 3 down to 2

10: Final 2

Or possible head to head format?[/quote']

Head to hear would be good, like for premiership dream team (After January)

Might take a bit of time to sort out though.

To be fair, the head to head does sound better actually :P Shouldn't take much to sort out, although if there's draws and people not making predictions could be a problem. I think I have that sorted though.

I think that putting it into the Super 6 thread may clog it up? And confuse people. Not sure :L I don't particularly want to make a new thread, and I'm not sure about putting it into the M/R thread?

EDIT: Final format (unless people have other ideas)

Final 9 rounds of Super 6:

If there are 40 entrants.

Group stage, 8 groups of 5. 4 Rounds (Everyone play each other once.)

There will be 3 pts for a win, 1 for draw, 0 for loss.

This will take up Super 6 rounds 1 to 4.

The bottom player in each group is eliminated. Meaning there are 32 left.

32 then go into a straight knockout (most points goes through)

So, Super 6 Round 5: Round of 32

Super 6 round 6: Round of 16

Round 7: Quarter Finals

Round 8: Semi's

Round 9: Final

Bit confusing but hopefuly people will understand :)

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

after 2 poor defeats in a week, maud has cancelled the xmas party for all the first team players.

that means if you were on the cancellations list you can now phone and arrange your tickets with maud.

cedd , you were taken off that list because you insisted on coming with heskey!

as this is the busiest time of year for me, i might not be posting on the forum in the next 3 weeks, so i want to wish everyone an enjoyable xmas and a happy new year.

9 changes to tonight's team for the match against QPR in the third round , Including playing two naturally midfields at CB :( That's how bad the times are at Galpharm stadium . We've been badly hit by injuries lately , with both Beria and De Ceglie our injured ! Not expecting to win , but it would be nice to go trough :D

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

i have had an idea for another 7777 cup.

it will involve every club and you have no choice in entering.

it is a simple idea, (otherwise i wouldnt have thought of one) but time consuming because of typing out the fixtures and results.

so it will start in january unless someone else wants to start running it over xmas and new year.

7 rounds, first round will include 12 byes.

how it works is

gateshead drawn at home to wrexham.

on the saturday night chosen for that round, the teams scores from their proper matches will be used.

so when gateshead lose 4-0 to histon and wrexham lose 7-6 to hereford, the cup result will -gateshead 0-wrexham 6.

if it is a draw then the replay will be using the following wednesday's match.

the semi & final will be a two legged affair.

if you feel that this isnt a good idea, say so and i wont do it, i wont be offended.

Cracking idea, but would take one hell of a lot of work to pull off. :o

Just updated the first 2 groups for the Founders Cup, shock news, the holders are out!

Starting the other 2 groups now. B)

J. Hutchinson II steered Forest Green Rovers to victory against Hayes & Yeading United.

Forest Green Rovers beat Hayes & Yeading United 1 - 0 in their Division 5 fixture.

Kanu scored the winner for Forest Green Rovers and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

cor just scraped a victory with 3mins remaining to keep the challenge up. York & Grimsby both won so still a point in it at the top...

87' GOAL!! - António KANU loses his marker and thumps a low shot under the keeper!

Well we have been the draw specialists in all competitions this season, and we didn't fail to disappoint with a draw against Millwall in the Founders :P

I think we are out of the picture for qualification but we have more than held our own so i'm pleased about that :)

CITY CHUCK IN THEIR LAST GRAND TO SIGN EVERTON YOUNGSTER !

Free Agent Conor Mcaleny has moved to Manchester City for £835K

The Everton youngster came on the Database the other day, The striker has come on at 75 rated, I remember seeing the 19 Year Old come off the bench the other week for Everton, Looked a good player, According to Soccerway hes started twice this season.

There was interest from Tottenham, Leeds, Wolves and Rotherham in this GW, I think 2 or 3 Put offers in, Glad to have him, Nothing special, But hopefully he plays quite a bit for Everton in real life, They do seem short on attackers.

Current Balance £369

This is my Current Balance at Man City, I literally chucked in what I could :D, My Last thousand was eithen put into it :P

My reserves out against united tonight, pretty woefull second string a massive 7 point drop from the first team, so fully expect to out. Lets be honest a cup run is the last thing this side need at the minute (obviuosky be ddkighted to win tho!)

Could mean that i can make good on those loan promises tomorrow.

Stoke City 0 - Chelsea 1

I am so surprised that I managed to win tonight. I managed to scrape a 1-0 away win at Stoke. With league form taking an alarming dip as of late I have had to go against my wishes and had to put out the reserve team to prioritize the league. The side I had out tonight had an average of 86 but some kid called Ganchozo (I have no idea who he is) only 78 rated steps ups in the 37th min to score the only goal of a tight game at the Britannia. On a side note former Chelsea front man Francesco Totti got sent of for an awful challange which made seeing out the game a lot easier that it could have been.

The defence of the title continues. Just. :)

Round 4 : Chelsea Vs HUDDERSFIELD TOWN -- Yaaaayy ! :( :(

I am going to have to guard against complacency in that match (no offence). Although dont lose heart tf the league for doesnt pick up though dont expect to be up against a full strength team by any means, and also your fans get to have an awesome away day in London :).
