Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

Swindon Town earn a point after a 0-0 away draw against in-form Macclesfield Town.

André had an impressive game and was later voted Man of the Match.

Swindon Town Manager Nicholas Fursse said

... Since their new manager took over Macclesfield have been unbeaten so we knew we would have a tough job here tonight so I am satisfied with the point. The game was pretty even throughout and there wasn't much in it. Ribiero Andre fully deserved his man of the match award and never stopped working. As for his goal being ruled offside I thought it was a little dubious but that's life, I am not in the business of criticising referees so if he rules it offside then thats it.

Swindon Town stay in second place but gain a point on leaders Grimsby. Next up is another away match; this time to Burton Albion...

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

Tried the new 'Manager Report' - Where your assistant makes suggestions about your team.

Your Assistant Manager recommends you should keep these players as they are either the best or amongst the best players in your squad:

Schmelzer

Alderweireld

Heitinga

Rolfes

Hernanes

Diego

Your Assistant Manager believes these players are dispensable and that you should try and sell them:

Emerson

Leon

Barnett

Your Assistant Manager believes these players are your clubs hottest young prospects and you should keep them to see how they develop:

Gil

Musonda

Gardner

Sterling

Herrmann

Ferreyra

Also tried the Manager Report for a single player - Didier Drogba:

Recommends you keep this player - One of the best players around

Key Points

Old player at end of his career and probably likely not to have many seasons at his current level left.

Should be commanding a starting place in your team.

Is your best F C

What does everything think of this new feature? Plus the new position abbreviations?

The manager reports are something extra for the game, but I think their reports are too simple and I could have said that information myself.

The new positions are confusing, and I prefer the old way, I hope they change it back!

Ryan,

i have just had a look at the new ' manager report' addition and i find it rather sad.

are sm targeting the 5-8 year old bracket as new income?

not only is it pointless and adds no value to the game, it is wrong in its information that it gives, it has the AI of the assistant manager that picks the team and formation when you dont have the gold management.

The offer for Free Agent Glenn MURRAY from Shorpe United has been accepted along with offers from other clubs. Glenn MURRAY will now decide which club he wants to join. The transfer will be completed within the next 24 hours.

Will be coming to me for 1.7mil.

Good deal for someone who has scored 14 goals i think in the championship.

HEREFORD beat Wigan 4-0 in a very emotional game at Edgar street.

being a small club, everyone seems to know each other and after the passing of brothers, Charlie & Fred who between them had served the club for over 100 years, their was an unusual mood around the place.

the match didnt seem to matter but i wanted the players to give a performance that would do justice to the brothers service and dedication to the club and i got it.

from the start , Wigan weren't in it, we kept the ball and hassled them the whole game.

Crouch was quality and got a goal for his efforts and was replaced by new loanee , Sturridge on 75 minutes who took just 3 minutes to open his account with us and then found time to add another in what was a very special night for Hereford.

Next game is at West ham, a defeat would of been a foregone conclusion but with their top players being very unfit , we might have a chance.

Kingsy, watch out with Roman, Sturridge apparently was asked to talk to Bertie about compensation for the Hereford boss and obviously Bertie loves to make money so i think talks are being held today.

not that i will be leaving though, in the words of the music genius, Elvis,

I DONT WANT TO GO TO CHELSEA

THE CLUB WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF THOSE WHO HAVE SENT MESSAGES OF CONDOLENCES OR FLOWERS, THANK YOU.

for those that have asked, there is to be a memorial service at the ground next friday at 11am, the east stand will be open for you to take your seats and we have manage to convince Bertie that it has to be free entry.

with all the flowers that have been sent, Bertie has taken on one of the new units and is opening up a florists.

He has also installed a new manager in the supporters club, a very popular addition as well, Donna will be leaving the tea hut and taking up her new position tomorrow.

Alex, she has asked me to say hi, hopes everything is going well at brentford and that the infection cleared up quickly.

Yay! Top man, much the same feelings here mate but I have to say having cut down to a single team means I am enjoying it more at the minute.

Good to see you round these parts.

In other news...

The offer for Dedryck BOYATA of FC Basel has been accepted

Arsenal - £3,200,000 + Rhys MURPHY + Harrison DUNK

Swindon Town - £4,150,000

Looks like Swindons player, think mine came to £3.4m

The offer for Tormen SAIMON of Grêmio from Arsenal has been accepted

Having missed out on Abdul Razak, Emre Can, Joel Obi and another 4 targets over the last couple days (been massively out bid on all of them - people paying £5m for a 200k player and their not even huge talents?!?!) its nice to see a CV purchase from external still exists.

Paid £1m above my cv for Dedryck Boyata but, according to the 4 SM credits I spent on the scout report, he should be worth it. Thought he was going to the Arsenal after Ed revised his original bid. Anyway, as Boyata can cover 2 positions it means I can sell one of my other more expensive defenders so overall it's a good signing for the club,,, I think....

Not sure why I am so hung up on keeping the clubs finances in order. Not as if I get any reward for it or even so much as a thank you from my chairman

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

Russia outclassed Ghana and beat them 1 - 0 in their SMFA World Cup Qualifiers Group 10 fixture.

Pavlyuchenko had an impressive game and was voted Man of the Match.

Kerzhakov was on the scoresheet for his side

Russia's World Cup qualifying campaign is back on track after a dismal start of 3 straight defeats. Last months 1-0 win against Iran and now this means Russia are right back in it.

As you may recall I took over Russia just before the last World Cup after an altercation at the team hotel resulted in previous Manager, Fabio Copello, leaving in a sulk. Following that we had a pretty successful tournament making it all the way to a Quarter Final showdown against England without conceding a single goal. However, Frank Lampard put an end to that and we eventually lost after a pretty sloppy penalty shootout.

Regretably, after that, the Kremlin's Executive Minister of Football Corruption claimed that I had deliberately blown the penalty shoot-out in order to let my native England progress to the semi-finals and possibly win the trophy. My position as the Russian Manager and, indeed, my future in general was placed under immediate threat so I had to take my then girlfriend, ex-Russian Model/Pornstar Anastasia Pulmyknickersov and flee Germany ASAP back to London.

Thankfully, with the help of my chairman and the SM, my lawyer was able to convince the Russians that it is impossible for a soccermanager to flunk a penalty shoot-out as we have absolutely no control over it and can't even select who gets to take the kicks.... so now things are back to normal although the legal action plus the intensity of my work at Swindon (can't rely on my Assistant Manager, who recently again proved his incompetence by charging me 8 SM credits for a report that I could have done myself) proved a bit of a distraction.

Hopefully things are now back on track, despite picking up a couple of suspensions and we hope to be heading to Mexico for the next World Cup as its more interesting than playing all those friendlies during the pre-season.

Premiership Predictions (Turn 19)

I decided to do some predictions for todays Premiership games. This is the first time i've tried something like this. I might make this a weekly thing if it goes down well (And if I get enough spare time :))

Chelsea (13th) v Manchester City (1st)

This fixture is the biggest of the weekend, even with Chelsea struggling in mid table. Manchester City should be confident travelling to Stamford Bridge, as they have the best away record and most goals scored for an away side. However they will be without influential David Silva in Midfield. In a clash of the billionaires, who will come out victorious?

Prediction: Chelsea 3-2 Manchest City

Sunderland (2nd) v Tottenham Hotspur (16th)

The Champions have really struggled to recapture last seasons form, hovering just above the relegation zone. Their form has picked up recently with Alex Pato finding the net 9 times this season. Sunderland are continuing there good form of last season, and have done very well to be second in the table. Santi Cazorla has been key to them, with eight goals and five assists. Form would say Sunderland will win, however it is Spurs who have come out on top in the last four meetings.

Prediction: Sunderland 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Blackburn (8th) v Arsenal (3rd)

This is the first time these clubs have met in three seasons. Blackburn have adjusted well to the Premier League after last seasons promotion. Arsenal boast one of the strongest squads in the division, and the form of Mario Gomez will surely scare the Rovers Defence as he has 5 goals and 10 assists this season. The former Gunner Thomas Vermaelen will have a job keeping the German quiet tomorrow night. Arsenal will be without two key defenders, with Phillip Lahm injured and Thiago Silva suspended.

Prediction: Blackburn 1-3 Arsenal

Aston Villa (4th) v Wolverhampton Wanderers (7th)

The West Midlands Derby always produces goals, with 15 goals in the previous five meetings. Wolves have had the better of the Derby, winning the last four league meetings. However Villa have knocked out there rivals in the cup this season. Two of the leagues top scorers will be in action, Drogba with 13 goals for Wolves and Milito with 10 goals for Villa. The odds of a 0-0 draw are very low.

Prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Fulham (14th) Manchester United (5th)

Manchester United are the form team at the moment, with 16 points from the last six games. Rio Ferdinand and Micheal Carrick get a chance to play against there former club, and will certainyl want to get one over there former team-mates. United have been hit with many injuries so far this season, Rooney, Robinho and Balotelli will all miss the trip to Craven Cottage. With such great firepower missing, it could turn into a much tougher trip for United fans than usually expected.

Prediction: Fulham 1 v 1 Manchester United

Blackpool (6th) v West Bromich Albion (15th)

Blackpool have always had a rivalry for the Baggies after finish runner up to them in the league in season one. West Brom have the better head to head record in previous seasons, winning two out of the last three meetings. This season the Baggies have found life much more difficult in front of goal, with Luis Suarez being the top scorer with four goals. Blackpool have been the oppostite in front of goal, with Carlos Tevez and Samuel Eto'o scoring a total of 23 goals.

Prediction: Blackpool 3 v 1 Fulham

Millwall (18th) v Liverpool (9th)

Millwall had a great season in the premiership last season, this term they have had a reality check and fightin for survival. They do possess one of the best strikers around in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has already found the net six times this season. Although he will miss tomorrows game with injury. Liverpool have some great strikers to name aswell, with Robin Van Persie and Lionel Messi leading the line. Millwall managed to do the double over the red half of Merseyside last season, can they make it a shock hat-trick?

Prediction: Millwall 0 v 2 Liverpool

Shorpe United (12th) v Sheffield United (10th)

Two of the leagues smaller siders meet at Glanford Park, both have great seasons so far. Both previous meetings have ended 1-1. Sheffield United have been great in attack, with Lewandowski, Taison and Lukaku scoring 16 goals between them. Shorpe have only managed 20 goals in the league, but there success has been with a tight defence. Will the Sheffield Attack overcome the Shrope defence?

Prediction: Shorpe 1-0 Sheffield United

Preston North End (11th) v Colchester (19th)

Colchesters Champions League adventure seems to have affected there league form this season, with just sixteen points from 18 games. They also have a number of big players out tomorrow with injuries, including Prince Boateng, Mathieu, Danny, Jonas and Babel. Preston have never beaten Colchester in this setup, but will hope that Jermain Defoes good goal scoring form (8 in 17 games) will give them the three points.

Prediction: Preston North End 2-0 Colchester

Crystal Palace (17th) v Leeds United (20th)

This fixure could already be a six pointer for relegation. Crystal Palace have struggled after being promoted, but boast some great young talent like Shaqiri and Lucas. Leeds have been on a downward spiral since the depature of Duffman, and its surprising to see them struggle so much this season. Although Falcao and Reus should be able to help them avoid the drop. Two of the worse defence in the leagues, with both sides preffering to attack it could be one of the games of the day.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 2 v 3 Leeds United

That concludes my predictions. Hope people enjoy it :)

Yes good luck tonight Riece! It has all the makings of a really good and close match. I'm sure it's one where we will both feel we can get the win. But either way its great fun to be up against top managers here.

...and super predictions MaoaM! An enjoyable read :)

Kačaniklić thriving on life at Saints

240px-Alexander_Ka%C4%8Danikli%C4%87_Fulham_v_WBA.jpg

Alexander Kacaniklic

Summarise Southampton in two sentences?:

I just love life here, the staff are amazing, especially away from the Stadium, it just shows that a team isn't all about the beautiful game. My team mates as well, the manager continues to mix us up and give us all a chance.

Your favorite Team Mates?:

Well, got to be Oxlade and Frimpong, the squad is always on such a high with them, I would say all but its just them two that makes playing here so much more fun! We have to put up with the DENCH stuff every now and then though.. :P

Do you think Southampton can push to Automatic Promotion?:

Well it is going to be tough, but halfway through the season and we sit third, so it is possible, big game tonight against MK Dons, if Jonny C (Cristaldo) continues to score and assist then we should have a chance, been a wonder signing by the gaffer.

Where do you see yourself next season?:

Still at the Saints of course! By then I should be at least a regular in the first choice team, pushing into the starting XI, I need to take a bit more of a chance with the games I have currently.

You are in the QF's of the Shield, do you see Southampton winning it?:

Well, my heart.. of course! My brain... hmm.. will be tough of course, Arsenal are up next, I know the manager and Arsenal's manager are on talking terms, not best buddies, but not argumental so we should see a good game, with niether sent to the stands!

Congratulations on breaking through the the Swedish National Squad, Do you owe Southampton this?

Of course, playing with Seb Larsson and Big Nose Ibrah, is a real priviledge and I can bring that back to the team and show how they play, I mean we have world class players in Jordi Alba for example who play with the best so our National squads are a way of gaining new methods to play.

Hope to see you rise soon, in terms of position in the club, and be pushing the likes of Ljajic for starting places!

Rarely post in here as my Leyton Orient never in good position :P

We even got relegated to Division 4 and this season promotion hope is not really high even though we are just 4 points from playoff zone

I thought this season i finally get a decent team rating and depth wise, something that i can't get last 3 seasons

If you are interested, i can sell everybody in my squad, either for P/E or cash deal. Names like Zaccardo,Dunne,Juhasz,Ramis,Estrada,Lemoine,Galloppa,Lee Chung Yong,Salpingidis,Odemwingie and Postiga available. Not a world beaters, but they have decent rating and will help any team that'll play them as starter. Contact me if you are interested
