New Season for FC Internazionale Milano

April 19, 2011

Hopes and Expectations

It is the start of a new season for FC Internazionale Milano. The new manager, who joined the club in the latter stages of last season, hopes to win this season's title. The manager gave this statement at a press conference today:

We have one of the strongest clubs in Italy and I plan to take this club to new heights. Last season we came in 3rd place, which in my opinion is a lousy finish for a club like this. This season I plan on bringing in some new faces to help us win this league.

Media Speculation

There are rumors linking Inter Milan to Franck Ribery and David Silva. Franck Ribery, who joined FC Bayern Munich back in 2007, has told reporters yesterday that he wanted to link up with his former teammate, Arjen Robben. Inter Milan is also said to be interested in other big stars including Michael Essien, Bacary Sagna, Daniel De Rossi, Lucho Gonzalez and Robin Van Persie. Van Persie is the least likely to join Inter Milan since there are already several big strikers at the club.

Gianluca Litteri Leaving Inter

The manager received a bid of £273 000 for Litteri from AC Chievo Verona this morning. Zhou accepted the bid and made the following statement to the press this morning;

Litteri has disappointed me while at loan at Salernitana in the 3rd Division. He managed just 3 goals and 1 assist in 13 games for the team. I expected someone of his caliber to score more goals in what is the easiest league in Italy. I hope that he finds success at his new club.
