New manager Alan Tay had taken over at Bradford City. It has only been two seasons into the game and Bradford have finally found a new manager. We got to know his plans at his press conference.

"I'll be looking to add some quality to the squad and to bring in some youth players who can make a difference."

First Win in the Bag

A win by manager Alan Tay in his first game against Brentford has given many supporters a glimmer of hope. Alan's side won 2-1 against Brentford in what was a highly anticipated match.

Bradford conceded in the 28th minute to a goal from Brentford's Charlie Macdonald. Bradford's keeper Junior Lauro fumbled with Charlie's chip and could only watch on as the ball rolled agonizingly across the line.

Bradford though were back in the business 7 minutes later. Veteran Chris Brandon fired the ball into the top right hand corner of the net leaving the keeper no chance at all to save it.

In the 61st minute, substitute Rory Boulding loses his marker and thumps a low shot into the left hand corner of the net.

Retirement

It has been announced that long time servant Chris Brandon will be retiring at the end of the season. Bradford wish him all the best. "We are sad ti see such a faithful servant of this club go. His presence not only on the field but in the dressing room will be sorely missed and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Transfers

Yesterday, three players were unveiled at a press conference. The Japanese starlet Ryo Miyaichi was bought for a fee of 1.1M. Dutch goalkeeper Erwin Mulder agreed a 3 year deal with Bradford and reportedly cost a whooping 3.8M. Paraguayan youngster Silvio Torales was bought for a fee of 520K.

"We are proud of these signings and we know that they will be able to contribute to the development of this club. As you know Bradford is a small club and we don't have a big transfer kitty hence all we had to think very long about our transfer targets before making a bid. But we are glad with the players we have.

Torales is a young player with a lot of talent and potential and we are convinced that we will be able to groom him into an elite player. Erwin and Ryo were both starting to show signs of their promise in their respective clubs and we knew that they were good talents hence we snapped them up immediately.

We still have some more transfers lined up. We are hoping to have at least one fresh face in every department. We will be bidding some players goodbye of course. It does not mean that the players we have recruited will immediately get into the first team. They still have to work for their spot and if we find that they are under performing we will not hesitate to replace them."

Pinho Robert the Star of the Match

Roberts opened the scoring in the 38th minute, 7 minutes before halftime to spring what was a previously dull match into action. He raced past the defenders and dummied the keeper to leave himself in front of an open goal. He duly swept the ball in. Huddersfield equalised in the 70th minutes with Lee Novak thundering the ball into the net.

Goalscorer Igor Martinez

Bradford soon found themselves in the lead again when Japanese starlet Ryo Miyaichi in his debut raced down the left flank and cut the ball back for Robert to volley home. Huddersfield refused to give in and in the 76th minute, Gary Roberts equalised. Bradford though were not done. Igor Martinez headed the ball into the back of the net from point blank range, making no mistake.

NEW Signing Draxler

Bradford brought in a host of players. Five to be exact. They are Tim Krul, the Liverpool youngsters, Flanagan and Spearing, Neil Taylor and Julian Draxler. They are still in the hunt for a good RB/RM.

" We have brought in good quality players on the cheap. We believe that these players are the future of the club. We are still looking at for a RB/Rm to fill the empty slot permanently. "
