Re: argentinean league thread

Teje' date=' can u give me more info and recent performances of these players:

1. Franco di Santo

2. Pablo Piatti

3. Ever Banega

4. Radamel Falcao

5. Andres Rios

6. Angel Di Maria[/quote']

Franco Di Santo: Hugo Tocalli (Argentina's youth coach) was reportedly very sad he didn't get totake him to the u-20 WC. He's the type of forward that Argentina lack: a very tall player who is good at heading, but also good with his feet. He's having a good tournament in Chile and just got an increase. I think he'll be a very good player but you could probably do better with the money it would take to buy him.

Pablo Piatti: For those who didn't buy him when he was dirt cheap it's still a good moment to buy him. He's only rated 86 now and he's one of the most exciting young players in Argentina. His rating will definitely go up. He's very young but he has managed to become a fundamental piece of Estudiantes. A highly recommended player.

Ever Banega: I said many times I think he needs to improve his marking because he just gets booked too early and then loses confidence for the rest of the match. This ended up being very important because he got sent off in the 1st half of the game against River Plate after beeing shown 2 yellow cards. Had it been some other game then it wouldn't have been much of a problem but being River Plate it was and he'll be under much pressure from the media and fans now. He's amazing technically but he needs to improve his marking and pass the ball faster. He'll probably make the national team in a couple years but unless he improves these things I think 88 is fair.

Radamel Falcao Garcia: When he made his debut he showed impressive skills, but sadly got injured was struggling to reach his old level. People started wondering whether he'd ever be able to play as he used to again. In a Copa Sudamericana game against Botafogo he scored 3 goals, it was quite a game because with 20 minutes to go and only 9 men in the field against Botafogo's 10 River Plate had to score 3 goals and managed to do it. Falcao scored the winner in added time and then in the next weekend he scored a nearly identical equalizer also in added time. He didn't play the next game due to player rotation but he played against Boca and scored River's first goal. These performances gained him a call to his national team and he started the game against Brazil. He's a very good forward, without a doubt River Plate's best and if he continues playing like he has then more increases should come his way.

Andres Rios: He has always been highly regarded by River Plate's manager, who praised him since he was 17. He has been scoring often this season and is ahead of Marco Ruben for the manager. He just got an increasto 80 and he's still a very good deal, although not as good as Buonanotte who alongside Augusto Fernandez is River's most talented player and certainly a solid 90+ candidate. Get him now while he's just a 74.

Angel Di Maria: He's a pacy winger who is very good with the ball. He was very good at Rosario Central and attracted interest from the biggest clubs in Argentina and some clubs in Europe. He can also play as forward as he did in the u-20 WC when Mauro Zarate was injured. I haven't seen much of him since he mmoved to Benfica, just the Champions League matches and he looked pretty good. Argentina are in need of someone who can play LM in the national team (right now Cambiasso plays out of position there) and he might be the one who ends up plating there.

Re: argentinean league thread

"Angel Di Maria- Another Rosario Central youngster not on SM, and at the age of 18, he has been quite good for them, but he hasn't had a chance yet, seen him play in the youth team and the great performance got him in the Rosario senior team, and if he gets a chance or two, he'll be on Sm quite shortly, but ask Yuri(again)."

This is what I said the first time I had heard of this guy, now he is 19 and rated 86. :D This was last year Octobe.:)

Dude, you are a harsh judge. Give Banega a break, he's still a kid. His skills will develop with time. To say he will be in 'el albiceleste' in a few years time is way off, there are far too many better players in front of him..

If he can stay in Boca for a few seasons then it will be good for him. I think if he moves to europe to early (like Gago) then we will see a slow down in his progression.. which would harm his progress as a player too much..

Re: argentinean league thread

Teje, I wonder if you can help me with my Indpendiente team. I'm in need of money and I need to know who is going to rise and fall over the next 2 or 3 Argentinian rating changes so I know who to sell and who to keep. My squad list is below:

Mariano HERRON DM/CM 29 87

Daniel MONTENEGRO AM/F 28 91

Carlos VILLANUEVA AM/F 21 89

Rodrigo DIAZ AM/RM 30 85

Germán DENIS F 26 90

Damián LUNA F 22 79

Victor SOSA CF 20 88

José MORENO CF 26 86

Cristian LEDESMA CF 20 84

Youth Team:

Miralem SULEJMANI LM/CM 18 75

Lucas OJEDA CM/DM 21 75

Mauricio ISLA M 19 74

Leandro MUSSIN M 20 67

Jacobo MANSILLA M 20 63

Enzo BRUNO DM 20 79

David ORELLANA DM 19 70

David SOLARI W/F 21 76

Carlos SCIUCATTI W 21 70

Federico GONZALEZ F 20 75

If you could possibly put a bracket next to each name saying whether you'll think they'll rise/fall/stay the same in rating, and what they'll go up or down to (approximately). It would be a massive help.

Thanks, Tom Mills

Re: argentinean league thread

I accidentally edited this post but what what should be here is:

Diego Gonzales and Sebastian Blanco are good young players whose rating will increase in time. Blanco's rating will probably increase sooner.

The best player in Lanus is Diego Valeri, who is currently a 87 but should increase to about 89 in the next rating changes.

Re: argentinean league thread

Hi, Teje:)

Can you, please, tell me how's Matias Abelairas doing? Do you think that he'll get an increase in the next rating change and if so, how much is that increase going to be?

The other player I want to ask you about is Gary Medel(Universidad Católica/ Chile). I mean, I know that your speciality is Argentinian league, but I'm still hoping that you can give me some valuable info on him:D He certainly seems like a good prospect.

Abeilaras has been playing well. River's manager just quit, but before he did he was using him constantly as a sub. It's hard to start games when you have Augusto Fernandez and Belluschi in the team. I believed he would start more games because Passarella was playing Belluschi in the center of the midfield even though it was clear he's best playing wide. With Belluschi playing on the left and Augusto on the right he can only aspire to be a sub, but I expect him to star a few games due to rotation. He started one of the Copa Sudamericana semifinals because Augusto Fernandez was injured. He's a good player and whenever he's on the pitch he's in charge of the free kicks as he's a specialist. I'd wait for one more increase before selling him because 83 doesn't reflect his ability but as I said his chances of breaking into the first team are slim.

Gary Medel has had some disciplinary issued lately. He also missed quite a few games fue to suspension and an injury but from what I've heard from him he's a really good player and definitely one for the future. If I had him in my squad I'd hold on to him but right now I'm not 100% sure he's worth buying because he's not exactly cheap and there are many other good young players you could be spending that money on. I'd say he has the potential to reach a 88 by next year, but will probably need to move to a bigger league for his rating to keep improving from there. I'll do some research and get back to you.

Thanks for the info. I was planing to either sell him or to include him in a part-exchange, but I guess I'll wait till the next rating change to do so.

And for Medel, I actually already got him... pretty cheap, too:) I swapped one of my overrated players for him:D I just wanted to know what you think about him. If you find anything new about him, please, let me know.

Thanks once again and all best:)

Re: argentinean league thread

Hello Teje :)

What can you tell me about Andrés IMPERIALE who plays for Rosario Central?

Well he was a pretty good buy before the last rating increases and he has the potential to increase a bit more but I don't think it will be much. His team has had a tough season and I'd say he's been just average. There's another LB in the team (GARCÍA' date=' Martín LB/RB, 74, 22 years old, seems like a good deal) who is fighting for a 1st team place with Imperiale and actally started a couple games before he got injured.

Sebastian Blanco has made a few appearances, most of them coming from the bench. I'm not sure how much he could increase in the next changes. Abelairas only increased to 83 from 80 in the last rating changes although he had played more games than Blanco has so maybe a 2 point increase would be OK.

Blanco started yesterday and I was very impressed by him. It's very clear the kid has talent and his team is almost certain to win the league. I'd suggest you to buy him, he seems like he will be a very good player.

RUBEN, Marco: I'll be very surprised if he doesn't get a decrease. I was really surprised to see him raise as even Rios wo is just a 81 was rated higher by Passarella. I wouldn't really mind selling him at the moment, but if I did I'd try to get another young striker.

FERNANDEZ, Augusto: He's a great player, you should keep him. He needs his position changed to RM/LM although he has played as AM a few times.

ORTEGA, Ariel: He's a bit old but I don't think his rating will decrease soon. I'd keep him unless I really needed the money.

LIMA, René: I don't like him very much. He's not a bad player but I think selling him is the best option.

DOMINGO, Nicolás: He got injured at the start of the year and came back recently. I think he's a very good player and would keep him.

ABELAIRAS, Matías: I'd keep him. I think his rating will still increase so I'd advise you to wait before selling him.

AHUMADA, Oscar: I don't really like him, but he has managed to become River Plate's starting DM. I think 88 is as high as it gets for him.

ZAPATA, Víctor: I would sell him. He plays for Velez Sarsfield now and hasn't been playing too well.

GERLO, Danilo: I would sell him, too. Although I'd rather have him than Lussenhoff.

FERRARI, Pablo: He's a very good player and also River Plate's captain. I can see him raising to 89 sometime soon. You should keep him.

VILLAGRA, Cristian: He showed potential before moving to River Plate, but his performancess have been really bad and I think he's ran out of chances. I'd sell him.

LEYENDA, Bernardo: You should sell him. He has no chance of ever making it to the team.

Re: argentinean league thread

A few good buys I thought I should let you know about:

Nestor Ayala (F/AM, 86, 24): He plays for Tigre. He started as a sub but quickly earned a place in the first team. He has already been called up to Paraguay's national team and his been linked with teams in Spain and Germany. Because he initially was a sub and later in the tournament got injured he only got to play 13 games, but he still managed to score 7 goals in those games.

Andres Franzoia (W/AM, 80, 22): He's on loan from Boca Juniors at Huracan. Because when he got added to the DB he was at Boca he's a free agent in most WC setups. He ended the tournament as a first team regular and playing at a very good level.

There are also a few good prospects that need to be added to the DB. I'll tell you about them when they do.

Also here's a good prospect from Mexico:

Juan Carlos Silva (LM, 77, 19): He played 11 games for America (7 starts) and scored 2 goals in the derby against Guadalajara. He also started in the 2 legs of the final of the Copa Sudamericana, scoring in the 2nd one. Looking at the other ratings in the team he should get an increase to at least 83.

Re: argentinean league thread

Hey Teje,

I have picked up River Plate in WC 57, Season 5. I have been re-building the team with Agrentine talent. I have gained much information from this thread.

I have spotted a player that I am considering making a bid for, he seems to have a good year for Argentinos Juniors, 31 starts (+ 4 sub), 6 goals and 4 assits. However, I wanted to get your opinion on him before I committ to a bid:

Gabriel HAUCHE, AM/F, 21/87 - the Chariman wants £8.2m

Is he a rising star? I have searched the Forum, but not seen any info or comments on him.

Many thanks

River Plate WC 57

He's a good player and he started most games for Argentinos in the Apertura that just ended, where they finished high in the table. He was used more as a sub in the last games. He might get his position changed to F/AM in the next rating changes. If you need him to be AM/F then I don't think he's worth the gamble and if F/AM is OK then I think you should rather get Lautaro Acosta.
