Duffy "let the reveloution begin"

Middlesbrough_crest.png

With eight in already at the Riverside fans have been left drooling at the prospect of a succsesful campaign as early this season. The club , already seemingly transformed by Duffys signings is worth on paper more than ever.

The club's new players flew in today to complete there respective deals and although there were knock backs the club fans and management are said to be pleased with the signings and progression achieved in two days. The main knock back came in the form of Freddy Guarin from Porto who's agent forced the young Colombian into joining lesser side Bristol City in order to get a bigger pay cheque himself and former Juventus reserve keeper Storrari who decided life down in the richer south was a better option than 6 months free housing in Boro and the chance at higher divisioned football.

Sergio Floccari was one of the main faces to arrive at the club today , the Lazio hitman who scored 8 goals in the top tier of Italien football last season has said to cost the North East side the seemingly large fee of young full back Justin Hoyte in player exchange and £3,000,000 to sweeten the deal. He is now been highlighted as the main source for goals in the Boro squad with no other out and out striker yet to materialise on the clubs radar. Although this situation is rumoured to be ending in a short while.

floccari_sergio.jpg

Sergio in action for Lazio

Another of todays big signings were the full back arrivals of Clemens Fritz from German side Weder Bremen were he was a consistant rock at the back and Taye Taiwo who was roumered to be joining none other than Italien giants AC Milan before an incredible U-turn saw him join the Boro instead. Both were important figures at their former clubs in last seasons campaigns and it is now hoped that this top level duo will now be able to replicate their form as a pairing in this apparent lesser division. It is heavily roumered that the main reason for both joining , espically the reasoning of Taiwo's U-Turn from his move to Milan is that Middlesbrough's new insperational leader Ashley Duffy pitch of the clubs ambitions and the ever improving image of the club was greater than the appeal of the rest of Europes great sides. Although Taiwo and respectivly the rest of todays signings won't be playing in front of crowds of 80,000 in Europes top stadiums , they are all said to be excited at the prospect of playing in front of 40,000 at one of Britains loudest grounds.

Taye-Taiwo-001.jpg

Taye for Marsiellies last season

The last news to emerge from the side tonight is that 3 more signings are expected to be completed in the coming hours. Champions League winner Thiago Motta is the main name and although Boro face stiff competition from Cardiff City for the Brazilian magician the club are still confident he will be in a Boro shirt by morning. The second comfirmed deal is that of Valencia and Spanish center half David Navarro , after previous interest in Athletico Madrid's Alvaro Dominguez failed to materialise there was only one of option on Duffy's radar and that was of the 29 year old. Said to bring star quality to the backline it is not hard to see his quality sparkling through. The final and most suprising of the 3 new comfirmed signings is said to be Irish Goalkeeper Ger Hanley , with no other previous expierence apart from several appearences at tiny Irish minnows Galway United there is no real reasoning behind the young goalkeepers signing although it does now allow for the capturing of a bigger more prestigous goalkeeper to field the number 1 jursey.

Club Spokesman: The club are ambitious and hope these signings prove to the fans that Steve Gibson has full and utter faith in new boss Ashley Duffy , the first of which he has trusted withh such funding. So far the club have managed to bring stars to the club that have not been seen since the likes of Juninho and Mendieta and it is hoped the glory days will be coming back sooner rather than latter. Ashley Duffy and Steve Gibson have together given me permision to tell of there promise to continue the improvement of the squad and leave no stone unturned when it comes to potential new signings. They and i'm sure all Boro fans cant wait for the new season to start and we get to see this new colaboration of stars play a style of football now seen at the Riverside for a number of years.

Sky Sports News, TRANSFERS! (AGAIN?)

.

Saint Simon!

It has emerged that Southampton have hit a deal with the Black Cats, Shot Stopper Mignolet. Mignolet will swap the red and white of Sunderland for the red and white of Southampton. Sunderland shocked the world with their deal to lure probably the best Goalkeeper in the world Iker Casillas, this might be the reason behind Mignolet's decision to leave.

- Georgie Thompson, Sky Sports News

Media Speculation

The Deal is apparently around the 5 million mark, rumours of Bialkowski going to the Black Cats as part of the deal to. This has surely been a step in the right direction. What was I saying earlier in the day about defence issues, they got the goalkeeper, now, you will probably hear from me sometime soon about defenders. Division 3 Team, not for Long.

Thanks to all the Sunderland Fans, off down South now, you have been one great leap of experience for me.

Osvaldo Giroldo Júnior - Duffy's new right hand man

Middlesbrough_crest.png

Juninho Paulista , a living Teeside legend. The man named little fella by the Boro faithful will always be remembered as the friendly Brazilian who gave the club 3 solid spells at the club. Famed for his friendly aproach and tiny physique the legend will now return as the new assistant manager to new English manager Ashley Duffy.

A shock to many at the club even most of the senior staff , many of which were only imformed at lunch time today. The fans themselves have made their feelings known , a handful of faithfull Teesiders were seen outside the Boro training ground to welcome back their hero for a fourth time. Juninho's first spell at saw him make 57 appearences scoring 12 goals in a 2 year spell at the club , Juninho was extremely effective in the attacking midfielder position, where his skills helped the club reach the FA Cup and League Cup finals in 1997. However relegation at the end of the 96/97 season left Paulista in tears and the only way to save his chances of a world cup squad place was to move away from the Riverside.

Juninho-Paulista.jpg

Juninho relaxed in his new role

His second spell although brief was still as explosive as the first , making 28 appearences scoring 4 goals he showed the fans what they were missing with the short loan spell back. However the Boro fans had to wait another two seasons for Juninho to return home and this only happened after Boro forked out £6,000,000 to get there hero back. Although he was still the star of the golden generation at Boro he never reclaimed the form he showed in his first spell. This however did not stop Boro winning the 2004 League Cup Final which Juninho claimed was mor important to him than winning the 2002 world cup. However this was his last ever season in the red jersey and he never returned for a fourth time slowly playing out his days at clubs that never fully appriciated him. He gave the club he loved 119 appearences and he was loved for it , the return is now to spark a huge positive vibe in the club that will potentially lift the fans sky high for the start of the new campaign.

Although his new role is not on the field and the fans wont ever get to see the legend take on opposition defense's like he had in the past , Juninho will play a huge part in attracting the new generation to the Riverside and will be responsible for the public announcements and also fan-club relationship that it is hoped the club will grow stronger from. He is said to be Duffy's first choice and it is expected to be by far his most influental signing yet.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Match Reports,Transfer news etc.

Bradford City manager Lee Reynolds has annouced that 6 new faces will arrive at Valley Parade tomorrow. This follows on from Ryan Dickson arriving for £400k on a 4 year contract from Southampton

20080105-152431-0030.jpg

It is expected that Faouzi Gholam will arrive from Saint-Etienne, Mathieu Peybernes from Sochaux, Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre, Okan Alkan from Fenebahce, Samba Diakite from Nancy and Abdoulaye Diallo from Rennes. The 6 deals are reported to come to a total of £4m, but Reynolds calls the outlay a good investment. "All the players are young and hungry, Diakite is the oldest at 22. We have good links in France and have watched all the players several times with the exception of Alkan who is arriving from Turkey. I have high hopes all will become great players for Bradford"

Diakite is an exciting signing for Reynolds, "he's a player with great ability on the ball and likes a tackle too. He's been a regular with Nancy and we worked hard to get him with Leeds also in the running"

diakite1.jpg

The signings will not end here with Reynolds trying to sign a striker next, although a deal to bring Lee Tomlin to Valley Parade is now dead in the water. "We tried. Lee has a lot of talent and would have been a real coup but Peterborough want to keep which is understandable", commented Reynolds

3293994343.jpg

Bradford have installed Peter Taylor as Reynolds assistant. "Peter knows the club well already and has a wealth of experience to tap into. It will a great partnership I'm sure"

Re: English Championship 7777 - Match Reports,Transfer news etc.

Cardiff Coup pains Duffy

Middlesbrough_crest.png

In the footballing world today it is common knowlege that an agent makes 50% of the decision when it come to a player moving club. Thiago Motta's agent is no different. The Brazilian has turned down the chance to join up and coming teeside club Boro in order to join Welsh outfit Cardiff City FC.

The Welsh club tonight comfirmed the signing of Thiago on the clubs website with the players agent claiming the superior contract offer on the table from Cardiff being the main pull for the Brazilian. The agent however did claim that the decision between Boro and Cardiff was a tough one but with higher wages and cheeper houses in Wales Thiago made a decision based on lifestyle rather than footballing prestige. Although this is a huge set back in Ashley Duffy's plans there is said to be a major coup just around the corner if the club can fend off interest from a premier league club and attract this major star to the Teeside.

Motta_Inter_01_rts.JPG

Thiago will now play in Wales rather than Teeside

Duffy:It's very late and i need my rest , but i am dissapointed Thiago has chosen Cardiff to be his club for the coming season. We made a very good offer to Inter Milan last night which we deemed acceptable for both the club and the player only to recieve notice that Cardiff had managed to squeze an offer in right at the last minute and pip us to the post. We wish Thiago Motta and Cardiff all the best for the future and i must say this might be a blessing in disguise if we can get the plan B option who we didn't even think was avalible before 25 minutes ago to join us and help us push for Division 1.

Stevenage continue to be successful in the transfer market, adding another 9 signings to their squad. Stevenage have won 11 of their 17 transfer bids so far, even though they are having to compete with top clubs for some players.

The 9 extra signings that Stevenage have made are of 2 GKs Damir Botonjic & Martin Chudy, each for 50k, CB Kai-Fabian Schulz from Hamburger SV for 270k, 4 midfielders Aleksey Timoshenko, Pedro Romo, Ivan Nastevski & George Maluleka, and 2 strikers Kingsley Umunegbu & Edgar Cani.

All signings are set to rise in the next changes besides Edgar Cani, who is now Stevenage's highest rated player.

As well as these signings, Stevenage have also come to an agreement with Sunderland, making Sunderland their new 'parent' club. This will greatly benefit Stevenage, hopefully adding more quality to their squad.

Quality Over Quanity

691.gif

Following the return of two Welsh internationals, Aaron Ramsey and Craig Bellamy, Cardiff have sprung into life in the pre-season transfer market with no fewer than 10 new players signing for the Bluebirds. The first player to join was Shane Long. Long arrived as part of an exchange deal which saw himself and £1.5 million move to Cardiff for one-cap-wonder Jay Bothroyd. Long will have his work cut out to break into the Cardiff side, but with the hectic schedule and injuries bound to occur he will get his chance. There was a second deal to be done with Reading. Matthieu Manset was transfer-listed and after negotiations over Cardiff 'keeper fell through, Hancock snapped up the forward for 700k. The last of the internal deals to date involved Southampton. Central midfielder Dean Hammond was told he had no future at the club so Cardiff swooped in with a £1million bid. The Saints wanted an extra 200k for their man. Without hesitaion the extra money was paid and Hammond signed for the Bluebirds.

180px-Shane_Long_Ireland.jpg

Long (above), a regular Ireland international.

Starting at the back Cardiff were in need of a safe pair of hands after leaking too many goals that stemmed from goalkeeping errors in recent years. Thanks to Hancock's committment as Germany manager, he was able to see first-hand four world class keepers in his squad. The final choice came down to Rene Adler of Bayer Leverkusen and Werder Bremen's Tim Wiese. Hancock ultimately chose Wiese, presumably due the price range. However, for £3million + the useless left-back Lee Naylor, Cardoff fans think this could be the best signing Hancock could have done.

Tim+Wiese+2.jpg

It was saves like this that made Hancock aware of Wiese's availability.

Along the back-line, Hancock initially seemed pleased, but as any manager knows, there's always room for improvement. Dekel Keinan was showing signs of decline towards the end of last season so the Bluebirds manager acted fast to get a replacement. Within minutes of Hancock getting the job, Hedwiges Maduro emerged as the no. 1 defensive target. The transfer cost of Maduro was simply Dekel Keinan. Maduro isn't the only new face along the back four. Kevin Theophile-Catherine signed from Rennes in exchange for Adam Matthews and £624,000.

pxntf54q87bs.jpg

The new lynchpin of Cardiff's defence.

The midfield area was an area that caused the most concern for the fans. A steely midfielder was top of the list of priorities for Hancock. As recently documented, Thiago Motta chose the blue of Cardiff over the red Middlesbrough. Though house prices was not the reason for Motta joining.

It is not important where I live. It is all about playing at the highest level I can and at a team which has a big chance of growing. I believe Cardiff can grow and with my help we can make the top division which is my goal.

- Thiago Motta.

Motta isn't the only midfielder to join the Cardiff ranks. Honorato Ederson signed yesterday from Lyon in a deal which saw Chris Burke and £1.5million go the other way. The other midfielder to join is one that Hancock believes could be one of the more important ones, much to fans' surprise. Kris Commons signed late last night and will provide able back-up to the first team.

thiago_motta.jpg

Motta, expressing his delight at singing for the Bluebirds.

The front line didn't need changing really, but with Bothroyd already sold changes had to be made. In come Barcelona startlet Bojan Krkic for Jon Parkin and £6million. He will ead the line for most of the season and his clever movement and eye for goals has got fans really excited over his signature.

Bojan-krkic+transfer+milan+inter+milan.jpg

Bojan (above), is ready to fire Cardiff to the top tier of English football.

Manager Darren Hancock had this to say in a press conference at around 4pm.

I'm delighted to get all these players. They will all help us to reach the promised land. We do have a couple more bids to make and if they all come through we'll be a force to reckon with. Someone who will be joining is is Mathieu Bodmer. We're just awaiting conformation that the deal has gone through.

AZ's number 1 on his way to Teeside

Middlesbrough_crest.png

Quality doesn't come cheap and you don't get much better than Argentina's number one Sergio Romero , the goalkeeper who played at the 2010 world cup finals has been comfirmed as the new Middlesbrough goalkeeper for the coming season and is expected to sign his 5 year contract this evening.

Romero who joins a host of stars such as David Navarro , Taye Taiwo and Gary Medel to name a few has joined the Teeside club for a fee believed to be in the region of £1,500,000 along with Lee Miller and Jason Steele joining AZ as makeweights. The 24 year old , featured 23 times for Az Alkmaar last season with several MOM performances . Although in March injury prevented him from playing the entirity of the season , it is not expected to be a transfer threatening injury that would of prevented the move. Romero has featured on several occasions for Argentina since his time at AZ and he is now expected to be the last piece in the Boro Defensive unit.

Romero in action

Duffy: Sergio is one of the finest goalkeepers in the world and the best from the Edviserie , he will offer us quality between the sticks and i'm fully confident he will be a great capture for us. Sergio , Taye , David , Domizzi and Clemens Fritz will be a great backline in this division and one i'm pretty sure will give strikers a nightmare to play against. If Sergio's performances from the world cup are anything to go by the fans will be in for a trat come the 28th. We are still expecting comfirmation on 10 more players to come in tonight so i would just like to tell the fans to keep their eyes peeled and await the arrivals as they come.

Cedd Cook has taken over the control of Gateshead, a rising club that has only just become professional this year. Cedd Cook who has managed all over the soccermanager world was quoted in saying that his job would be

'It will be a challenge, but one that I will grip with both hands'
Gateshead hope that their new manager can see them through into the top ten of the table and maybe further. We caught up with Cedd Cook on his fourth day of being Gateshead manager.
How are you finding Gateshead?

Its a great challenge, there's a lot of really enthusiastic lads who are prepared to work really hard for the club.

Is there a good chemistry with you and the club?

Oh yeah definitely, we have really connected over these four days and I don't have the language issue i'v had at other clubs.

Which club do you think is the biggest threat to you?

Well there's a lot of smashing clubs in our league with some great managers, so i guess we will have to wait to see

Any transfer goss?

Apart from the new signing's there's a few more, but their for my ears only.

In a widely expected move, Peterborough and Wrexham have gone into a long term footballing partnership. Both clubs are delighted with the deal which will see Wrexham receive some of the best young players the Posh can find on loan. In return, 'Boro get first dibs on any young players that Wrexham choose to sell. One deal has already been done between the two clubs, Kelvin Langmead dropping two divisions with £400k and Paul Pogba going the other way.

I am very exited to see Kelvin in action and the various loan signings from Peterborough will make a big difference to our playoff push - Barnaby Dowling

SINGINGS, SINGINGS AND MORE SINGINGS

Even after being manager of Gateshead for only four days Cedd Cook has bought in a massive 11 new transfers with a rumored 4 more coming!

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQtKxPRiEJpawv_14XULDLWBESYTtJCrAhBRVVUd6WiRoSCk4kYEQ

21 year old defender BENNETT, Ryan is the biggest name to join Gateshead's cause! After having 32 starts for a league one side, it took a massive 1.3 million to get the peterborough manager to sell, the largest transfer ever undergone in Gateshead's history. Gateshead hope that this new signing will be the rock that every team needs!

17 year old KOVACIC, Mateo has also joined Gateshead cause! This young, Croatian attacking mid, is an 'absolute tank' according to Cedd Cook and is suppose to be able to thread passes together like a magician! Gateshead hope that this young player will help the teams pace and charisma!

Another huge player to join Gateshead's quest is PROSENIK, Philipp. This 18 year old has been described as the Austrian Messi, completing the feat of a lion in the figure of a lamb. It was probably for this reason that Chelsea snapped him up for their squad. However, Gateshead seized upon the fact he was unhappy with his lack of games and thus gobbled him up for only 600k.

Mabwati Cedric Signs for Wrexham

normal.jpg?1280951964

Mabwati Cedric has signed for Wrexham in an exchange deal with Dean Keates!

This is a fantastic coup for a club of Wrexham's size and everyone is very excited to that manager Barnaby Dowling has shown that he can attract top players to the non-league club. On loan from Athletico Madrid to Numancia this season, Cedric has made 38 starts scoring 8 goals in Liga Adelante. He will be one of Wrexham's star players this season and will join fellow Spaniard Sanchez Ilie, who joined recently from Barcelona B, at the welsh club. He ahd been previously linked with Barcelona before the Red Dragons swooped in. Keates will be sorely missed but this transfer was seen as a great deal for all involved (except maybe Numancia).

A striker is now desperately needed and loans would be welcome! Parent club Peterborough have offered someone to ease the pain and the deal will hopefully be sealed shortly.

Yet more excitement has been build this afternoon at the Racecourse Ground after Rayo star Alejandro Arribas was spotted at the training ground. It is hoped he will sign shortly and the staff at Wrexham are quietly confident, but no hard news is available yet. More to come...

We WILL Promote !!!

These new players should help us to gain promotion:

Kombarov from Spartak Moskva

Carcela from Standard Liege

Montero from Villareal

We also bought an 18 year old goalie who will improve pretty soon.. talking about Coosemans from Brugge.

So yeah, we should do it this season, while we still have Yakubu and Kamara on loan. These forwards should be a great help.
