Wolves End On A High

Hernanes scores to earn Golden Boot as Wolves win on the final day.

Leeds 3 - 4 Wolves

Elland Road - Attendance: 31,079

Referee: Roberto Rosetti

Grosskreutz (1)

Hernanes (5)

Diego (24)

Gago (28)

Gustavo (70)

Schmelzer (75)

Perotti (84)

A great match on the final day earns Wolves their 24th league win of the season. A strong Leeds side who have had a great first season back in the Premier League gave the title winners a run for their money, especially as Grosskreutz fired the home side into the lead in the 1st minute. The goalfest started for Wolves just 4 minutes later as Hernanes got that crucial goal to pull him ahead of Drogba and Pato in the Golden Boot category.

The game was balanced as both sides created chances, with Leeds just edging ahead whilst Wolves had the possession majority. But the lead was taken by Wolves this time as Diego scored their 2nd after 24 minutes. And after 28 minutes, Fernando Gago scored a 3rd to put the game almost out of reach for Leeds. Half time came and the game had settled, but you could sense more goals were to come.

And we were right, as after a long wait, Gustavo got Leeds back in the game with a striker on 70 minutes, making the away side look nervy. But Wolves came roaring back with a goal just 5 minutes later from left back Marcel Schmelzer. The game was still not over as Perotti gave Wolves a cause for concern as Leeds closed the gap to 1 goal once more.

After some nervy final minutes, Wolves held on to win their 24th game and finish with 76 points for their title season. Leeds drop out of the European places into 12th, but they still enjoyed a great season back in the Top Flight.

Wolves Find New Buyer

Qatari investors, QIA take over the club with immediate effect

With all the problems surrounding former owner Sahid Adib Bishr Mohammed, Wolves finally find a new buyer to take the Midland club out of debt and into a financially stable life. After being arrested in his home country of Saudi Arabia, suspected of money laundering, Mohammed ordered his representatives to sell the club as quickly as possible.

After a month of trying, and the end of the season just passing, Wolves' finanical fortunes look to be turning after the takeover and investment from the Qatari group, QIA. The Qatar Investment Authority, recently linked with a takeover of Aston Villa, takes over Wolves with immediate effect, and with the promise to do everything they can to ensure Wolves has a stable future. We still remain sceptical, as these were the promises that the former owner stated, and look how that turned out.

Rumours have it that QIA are even richer than Sheikh Mansour and the group that own Manchester City. Which would be daunting for the rest of the Premier League, considering Wolves are already top with the players they already have.

Good News For Grosvenor

The good thing for Wolves is that QIA's first descision was to keep current manager Ryan Grosvenor, saying:

How could we even contemplate losing him? He has taken Wolves from the bottom to the top, and winning the FA Cup. It would be extremely silly not to keep him on for at least the next few seasons.

After this statement, it has been rumoured that Grosvenor has been offered a 3 year extension to his contract, which runs out at the end of next season. This means that Grosvenor will be in charge for at least the next 4 seasons - which is great news for him, the players and the fans.

Just In

QIA have announced what they plan to do in pre season for their new club.

We want to improve things straight away.

We will invest £25M into the academy system.

We hope to attract top investors and sponsors soon.

We want to make Wolves a worldwide name, as famous as Man Utd.

We will reignite the plans to develop the current training ground. The Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground will be extended and we will introduce extended plans to increase the previous development from £50M to £200M. The training ground will remain in the Green Belt and will become a Category 1 training ground in the next 3 years.

Every stand will be developed. We will put forward plans to increase the current capacity to 50,000 in the next 4 seasons. And then up to 65,000, 3seasons after.

As for transfer funds, we have given Ryan some small funds to buy youth players. But we need to discuss a realistic amount when we meet up with him and the team shortly.

It has been rumoured that Ryan has been given £5 Million to spend on youth. But some sources have said he has been given a huge first amount of £25Million. This is a stark change to the title season as Wolves had no transfer funds and therefore no players joined since the first part of the season.

More rumours are circulating that Wolves have made bids and possibly even signed to youth players straight away. This proves that they mean business and Grosvenor has had transfer plans for a long time.

Could this input put Wolves firmly at the top? We will have to see. It'll be interesting what Man City do, especially as they've just come back up.

Wolves End Transfer Drought

Grosvenor unleashes QIA's endless funds

Wolves start their end of season spending spree as new owners QIA hand over manager Ryan Grosvenor's first transfer kitty in nearly a season. Speculation is rife about how much Grosvenor is allowed to spend and the way he is allowed to spend it, but from what we understand, QIA are being sensible with transfer funds and are instead plowing their cash into other projects for Wolves - as we have stated in our last report.

QIA apparently don't want to spend loads on players like Manchester City have done, but we doubt that they won't stop Grosvenor from splashing the cash. So far, within the first day of QIA's ownership, Wolves have made 2 transfers. Instantly showing their intent on keeping their Premier League crown next season.

The transfers are low key and the money spent is only £1.5M, but at least Wolves can finally compete with their rivals like Man Utd, Chelsea and the newly promoted Man City.

So, who are the new faces?

Fernando Lewis, 480k from AZ.

The 19 year old Dutch forward signs a 3 year deal from the Dutch giants which Wolves hope he will be a star of the future. He will probably be loaned out to a lower English club to gain experience.

Jorge Filipe Monteiro, 1M from AEL.

Another forward, this time from Portugal. The 23 year old caught the eye from Wolves manager Ryan Grosvenor a while ago and as soon as Grosvenor had the funds, he swooped in, and beat off competition from Swindon for his signature. He may be loaned out, but Wolves may give him a chance to break into the first team. Althought that'll be tricky with Drogba still there.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Match Reports,Transfer news etc.

Last season has been a roller-coaster for the Huddersfield fans, after managing to get promotion via the play-offs the fans expected a lot more, and they were expecting their terriers to tear the Championship apart. Unfortunately they have been no way near their expectations and the manager things they can improve on their position this season.

First test for Mar's team is Barnsley, what a way to start the new season, the "West Riding Derby" is set to be a cracker of a match. The two previous meetings between the two ended up with Huddersfield victories, 4-0 and 2-3 respectively. The fans are expecting to make it 3 out of 3 against their rivals today and a full attendance is expected. No injuries for either teams so we expect the match to fulfill it's potential.

This is Huddersfields pre-season and it was pretty decent as they only lost to PL side West Ham and drew with Barnet but with a first eleven full of reserves. They will be looking to continue their great form with a few wins in the Championship ,despite having a pretty tough start with matches against: Barnsley, QPR, Leicester, Blackburn, Bournemouth and Newcaslte.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Match Reports,Transfer news etc.

Blaszczykowski & Bent Fire Bluebirds Into Second

Following a great turnaround at the Riverside, Cardiff City travelled to Carrow Road to make it 2 away games in 3 days as they faced off against Norwich. Bluebirds boss Darren Hancock kept the same 11 that won the game at Boro whereas JR the Norwich boss made numerous changes in order to freshen up his team after they had a stalemate against the other Welsh team in the division, Swansea.

Kick off came in the warm Monday night & the game began. Grant Holt had the first big chance on 6 minutes, but a poor touch meant that he was unable to capitalise on the break. The two Cardiff wingers Blaszczykowski and Bellamy were causing the hosts all sorts of problems, but it was Mikel Arteta who was pulling all of the strings in the middle of the park. Grant Holt and Bradley Johnson were the two players that stood out for the Canaries, but they couldn't break down the Bluebirds sturdy defence in which Roger Johnson was outstanding.

However, it was in the second half that the game really exploded into life. Norwich flew out of the traps and after 5 minutes of dominance early on in the second half, it paid off. A reverse pass from the impressive Bradley Johnson left Daniele Bonera wrong-footed. This gave Wesley Hoolahan more than enough time to pick his spot and he curled the ball past Tim Wiese sumptuously into the far corner. No longer had the celebrations died down, the Bluebirds were level. Captain Mikel Arteta slipped the ball through to Polish livewire Jakub Blaszczykowski to coolly round the keeper & finish to level the scores after 52 minutes.

Blaszczykowski after his goal.

The Polish winger wasn't done there though. After good work from Craig Bellamy, the ball was laid up to Blaszczykowski on the edge of the area. He still had a lot to do, but some quick footwork enabled him to sneak past Marc Tierney and slot calmly past the keeper to send the 1,500 wild in celebration. Five minutes from time the visitors sealed the deal. Amid confusion in the box, Darren Bent pounced to get his 3rd league goal of the season to make it 3-1 and wrap up the 3 points for the Welsh Capital.

That was a good run out for us, we battled hard, and thankfully our front 3 came up with the goods when it finally mattered. Hopefully it's the start of something special this year.

Darren Hancock - Cardiff Manager.

Saints Star Caught Out at 102mph

Top shot stopper Simon Mignolet has been caught travelling a whopping 102mph in the fast lane of the M25, the so called ring road of London. An unmarked patrol car saw Mignolet in the act in his brand new BMW M5 and acted quickly in pulling over the goalkeeper.

Mignolet has been given 6 points on his license by the police and a hefty £25,000 fine from Southampton for his behaviour.

Southampton Manager Chris Lord had this to say:

I am not very happy with his actions, I know he is 23 and loving his new car but at that speed he isn't only harming himself but the general public to, which is not on. He has let the club down with his actions, while I do not hold any grudges with any of my players Simon needs to take responsibility for his actions when off the pitch. At least no one was harmed, remember Pekarik from two years ago? He was driving virtually the same car and look what happened to him. We must forget about this and focus about things on the pitch

As you can see the Manager clearly stated his relief on no one being harmed from past experience. Mignolet, the number one for Southampton is still expected to retain his spot for tonights game. A few sirens maybe ringing if any mistakes happen.

Norwich City, A Side On The Up

The third season of English Championship 7777 is well and truly under way now, and despite it being early in the season, Norwich City currently find themselves sat in 4th place after their impressive 2-0 victory over Bolton. After an horrific opening to their season in which saw defeats to Cardiff at home and a pasting away to Bristol City, the Canaries are now currently on a run of 8 games unbeaten, 6 of which were wins. A run which has seen them notch up 17 goals and conceding just 5.

One factor in this run is the form of Northern Irish winger Chris Brunt. He has been in inspired form for Norwich having bagged 7 goals in his 8 appearances. Brunt was one of the fans' favourites last season after bagging an impressive 12 goals and also chipping in with 10 assists, and it appears that he is continuing this form again.

Man In Form : Chris Brunt

Last season current manager, Joe Robinson, had taken over the Canaries mid point through the season, and had dragged them away from relegation and even made a late dash for the play offs but to no aveil. However this season he starts fresh with his own squad and it is showing in their performances.

One hindrence for the boss is the lack of funds available to him. As of this moment Norwich City currently find themselves in the red, and the only way of generating funds would be through selling off players. But this is something Robinson wants to avoid.

Robinson on missing out on transfer targets.

It is frustrating to see your targets being snapped up around you when you haven't the funds to compete. But I feel the players I have are more than capable of continuing this fine run of form. Some of our performances have been terrific, and on our day we are more than capable of beating anyone in front of us, and they players know that and believe in that which is vital.

Robinson on rival sides for promotion.

The beauty of this league is that anyone can beat anyone. For that reason there are so many sides capable of getting promoted. The obvious side that sticks out is Newcastle. The squad is brilliant and it's head scratching why they're in this Division in the first place. For me they are the favourites for this division by a mile. But I am very much a fan of the squad that has been assembled at Crystal Palace. There are some terrific young talents at that side, the likes of Lamela, Lucas, Shaqiri, Vargas and many more. But all we need to do is worry about our game and how we perform, and results should take care of themselves. I aimed for a play off spot this year, and we are well on our way with this good start, but it will mean nothing if we don't maintain the performance levels we have reached.

Tomorrow night sees Norwich City travel to struggling Huddersfield who moved out of the drop zone on Saturday after victory over fellow strugglers Coventry City. And no doubt Robinson will be wary of the threat posed by the loan signing of Theo Walcott.

Pieters completes 'dream move'

Hollands number 1 left back signs for Villa

Aston Villa Football Club can announce at this late hour that they've completed the signing of a young Dutch defender Erik Pieters. Pieters, number 1 left back for Hollands national team will likely be rotated with clubs number 1 choice Marcelo. Pieters previous club PSV thanked him for his services and wished him luck at Aston Villa.

Pieters spoke to Villa TV:

I'm delighted to be here, I know times are tough at the moment, but this team is very talented and I know in a few seasons we should dominate the Premierleague. I'm confident I'll fit in very well. I know Nigel (De Jong) very well, and I know that Luc (Casnos) Is on loan as well. My number 1 goal will be to help the team avoid relegation cause we don't belong there. I hope we can even make a push for European spots!

Bones makes immediate Impact at Barnsley.

Having been out of a managerial job for six months, Chazza Bones (above) was yesterday appointed as the new manager of Championship strugglers Barnsley. The Welshman had been off the radar for a-while and having announced a break from football, (after contreversialy resigning as manager of Wales just six months ago) Chaz' is back for a new challenge and confirmed that a three and a half year deal had been agreed between both himself and Barnsley FC.

With just fourteen points from eighteen matches this season, the Barnsley chairman decided that changes had to be made. Former manager Stephen Partington survived a mere twenty-two days before recieving the boot having picked up no points in the six matches he'd managed the club, marking the worst run of form in the club's history.

The pressure was immediately on Chazza as he had to name a team for the local derby with Sheffield United last night. Having met the players and some fans in the afternoon of yesterday, he got to work talking tactics with the players and setting up a completely different gameplan and system to what the players were used to as the chairman had stated changes were needed.

The new formation and tactics had paid off for Chazza's men and The Tykes recorded a 2-0 victory over their close neighbours, Sheffield United. 22,944 fans saw Chazza complete his first win in-charge, the highest attendance at Oakwell in the clubs' history.

Twenty-one year old Lewis Holtby was the man of the match having scored both goals in the derby and generally controllng the game in midfield, however having dominated in possession, Sheffield United were disappointed not to have got more from the game, or at-least scored a goal.

Chazza Bones described the win as "Vitally Important" in an interview with Sky Sports:

"I felt we worked very hard for the win. We may not have dominated in possession but you have to score goals to win matches and I felt our defensive display was superb. I felt Lewis Holtby controlled the game excellently. Considering the lad is only twenty-one he controlled the game like an experienced playmaker and he is the key to survival this year, I will do my upmost to keep him at this football club. The win was vitally important and I'd also like to thank the fans for their incredible turn-out last night, I hear a club attendance record was broken, the atmosphere at the ground was incredible!"

Bones applauds the home fans at the final whistle.

Martin To Play Vital Role

Martin Signed From Norwich Just last week

Earlier Today Leeds United manager Aaron Duffy held a open press conference in which he was questioned heavily on the expensive arrival of Marvin Martin From Norwich who are currently under the management of Joe Robinson. The French international joined last week at a cost of Marcel Shafter and Clement Chantome heading to Norwich. Martin played his debut against Blackpool at the weekend grabbing a assist after finding a lovely through ball to on rushing Lukasz Piszczek who slotted the ball home to give Leeds a early lead. The Arrival of the Frenchman was kept on the quite due to Martin wanting a chance for him and his family to settle into the city and be able to meet his new fellow players at training before addressing the media according to Manager Aaron Duffy, but not Martin has had just under a week to settle in he's had this to say on his big move.

I'm Delighted to be here this is a big club with big ambition and a committed Manager which is a great environment to be coming into. Obviously its going to be a big step up coming into Division one football along side players such as Gustavo, Falcao, Reus and Cisse but I think i'm ready I had a great time at Norwich but feel the deal they got for me benefited them massively so even tho i was reluctant to leave I think its best for all partys. Along with this by Joining Leeds I've joined up with alot more french speaker players in the shape of Cisse, Bodmer, Ruffier and Amalfitano which will be a big help in settling in!

Re: English Championship 7777 - Match Reports,Transfer news etc.

Canaries Busy In the Market

Over the past few weeks, Norwich City manager Joe Robinson has been delving deep into the transfer market of English Championship 7777. He made it clear that for the side to continue with the good season changes needed to be made, and this was emphasised by the sides slump in form from mid May to early June.

One of the big deals done at Carrow Road was the acquisition of French front man, Olivier Giroud. Coming from Aston Villa, Giroud was not getting too much game time, and therefore a deal was struck quickly, the deal itself saw highly talented Brazilian centre half Juan and the Canaries main goal threat, Leandro Damiao. Robinson felt the deal was "perfect" as it brought in a proven goal scorer, and goals were lacking in the side.

New Front Man: Olivier Giroud

Another player who Robinson originally signed was Colombian winger, James Rodriguez. The young winger was moved onto Bolton Wanderers in a deal that saw Gary Cahill and Jose Antonio Reyes moving to City. Robinson described the deal as "one that is brilliant for depth in the side, and we are signing two experienced quality players. It is a shame to see James leave, as I have no doubt that the lad is going to be huge"

Robinson was not finished there. Next to leave Carrow Road was french midfielder, Marvin Martin. He went to Leeds United in a deal that saw the Canaries acquire Marcel Schafer and Clement Chantome, in another deal that helped the sides depth. Another part of the deal will see Austrian teenager, David Alaba, joing City on loan for next season. Despite his quality and potential, Martin failed to really put his mark on this season as he only managed to bag the 1 solitary goal in 21 appearances. However Robinson paid tribute to his impact at the club

Marvin had a hit and miss time here at City, but he is a top player. I'm sure the challenge of playing Premiership football will drive him forward and he's at a good club with good players and a top manager, so I expect big things from him up there.

Former Star Trio: Leandro Damiao, James Rogriguez, Marvin Martin

The final big name transfer was of Italian centre half, Andrea Ranocchia from Real Madrid. A host of sides were in for his signature but the Canaries won the battle, but it came at the cost of losing Chris Brunt, who was being tipped by many to be the clubs player of the season. However Robinson is well known for building from the back, and the addition of this top defender will only help the side.

Other notable names to leave Carrow Road were Domenico Criscito (to Milwall for £13,000,000) Wes Brown (to Wycombe Wanderers for £4,300,000) Joseph Yobo (to Hamburger SV for £7,100,000). But the name that sticks out most will be the departure of Grant Holt. Robinson has always stated his admiration for the frontman, however he felt it was time he moved on, and Holt was used as part of a deal that brought in Matthew Etherington, who was signed to replace the gap left by Christ Brunt. Finally for City player Marcio Mossoro has returned to the club, along with Braga team mate Michel Custodio.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Match Reports,Transfer news etc.

Canaries Form Returns

Norwich City's start to the season was very much pleasing for the fans and of course for manager Joe Robinson. Before the trip to Bournemouth on the 16th of May, the Canaries found themselves pushing Newcastle United and Crystal Palace for automatic promotion, however they then went on a poor run of form which aw just 1 win 8 games (a 5-0 drubbing of Cardiff City) The form saw them fall out of the play off picture and fans and pundits alike thought that it would be very hard for them to regain the form and confidence they had once had.

After the home defeat to Blackburn Rovers on June 9th, City had to travel to St James Park, to take on the star studded league leaders, Newcastle United. Many people feared the worst for the side and expected a heavy drubbing. But the Norwich players and Joe Robinson had other ideas. In the end City competed well with the likes of Cavani, Sanchez and Hulk as loan signing Rafael and new man Gary Cahill kept them quiet all game. Then with 15 minutes remaining Chris Brunt scored a sublime header which saw the victory and 3 points go to City. This was then followed by a credible 0-0 draw with another automatic promotion chaser Crystal Palace, and then by another 0-0 this time to Swansea City. City were keeping out shots at goal, but were failing to convert their own.

As City gradually climbed their way back into the play off picture, it was clear they need more goals. This led to the arrival of Olivier Giroud as Damiao parted ways with the club. Fans were excited at the arrival and pundits felt it was exactly what the side needed. And on his debut at home to Bristol City, Giroud delivered, bagging a goal on his debut in a 2-0 victory. Another positive was the tightness of the defence again, their 4th clean sheet in succession. And after a hard fought draw against Sheffield United, the Canaries travelled to Coventry City. Many felt this game was one the side had to win, and they didn't disappoint. Olivier Giroud proved his worth to the side again as he bagged an impressive brace and this was added to by the not so new face Mossoro in a 3-0 rout, a win that lifted Norwich into 4th place in the table.

As the table suggests, the play off place are at this moment very tight, and a couple of bad results could see Norwich slip right back out again. And Robinson is adament his side will push on to the rest of the season, and is also not giving up on the automatic places despite being 10 points adrift.

I was bitterly disappointed with how our form had dropped, by now we are lucky enough to find ourselves right in contention again. New faces have helped lift the club massively and results are coming in now. I am extremely proud that we have the best defensive record of the league, only conceding as many as we have is credit to the great work our defence has done over the course of the season. A play off place is what I aimed for this season, but who says we cannot go on a push the automatic places. Obviously Newcastle and Palace are looking very strong, but in this league, anyone can beat anyone pretty much

Etherington Brace Leads Canaries To Victory

Norwich City continued their impressive run of form, with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Midlands side Birmingham City. Coming into the game the Canaries were flying and they showed right from the off they were up for this game.

Math Winner: Matthew Etherington

It took just 3 minutes for the first goal to come. After neat play by Giroud in the Birmingham box, he teed up Matthew Etherington who cooly slotted the ball past goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg. Norwich then doubled their lead with 10 minutes remaining in the first half, again the goalscorer was Etherignton, however this time he lashed home the finish to put the Canaries in a commanding position.

After the break, Norwich continued to control the game, however it wasn't until the 83rd minute until they added the final nail into Birmingham's coffin. Good play by Etherington down the left saw him in acres of space, before he cut the ball back for new signing Tom Huddlestone to sweetly fire home and ensure that the Canaries would return to Norfolk in high spirits. The result also saw yet another clean sheet for the Norwich defence and goalkeeper Rene Adler. The side have no kept 7 clean sheets in the last 9 games, and the strong back line is what has helped life the side to where they are in the table.

Tough to Beat: Norwich keeper, Rene Adler

Norwich Manager: Joe Robinson

Very very pleased to be leaving here with 3 points and yet another clean sheet. The side have been briliant these past few weeks, and long may this form continue. I was serious in catching up with Palace and Newcastle, and performances like the one we put in tonight will prove it's no joke.

The win lifts Norwich up into 3rd place after Blackburn Rovers suffered a hammering at Middlesbrough 6-3! Up next for the Canaries is Carlisle United at Carrow Road. Many see that it will be a stroll in the partk for City, but one thing is for sure is that the side and manager Joe Robinson will not be taking them lightly.

Matip enjoys his first season in the premier league

Often described as a once in a life time dream to play in the premier league, many have dreamed and failed whereas the others live their dream.Matip had that dream of playing premier league football where he is chuffed to bits at how Shorpe's first premier league season has gone so far.

Matip's Interview

Interviewer: Hello Matip I'm here to ask you a few questions, tell me how is your career going for you?

Matip: Hello,I believe my career has gone swell so far with Shorpe and i hope it carries on like that.

Interviewer: What do you believe you and Shorpe have done right this season ?

Matip: What i feel we have done right is that we have stuck together as a unit this season through the thick and the thin and that at times when we have looked down and out we carry on fighting too the end.Which i feel has given us the confidence to go on further.

Interviewer: Anything wrong with this season so far ?

Matip: Yes there has been a few times when we have controlled the game possession and shots wise and lost which is always hard to take in sometimes

I remember the Arsenal game where we was leading 2-0 and it was going smoothly but a costly error got them back into the game and we couldn't cope with the pressure after that and eventully we lost 4-2.Credit to Ed tho he has done a good job with Arsenal but we got our own back in the 2-0 win in the next game against them ;).

Interviewer: Are you impressed with the manangers signings this season,if yes,who ?

Matip: I've been impressed with Zanetti and Nsue as Zanetti has come from Italy to play in the premier league for the first time in his whole career and to be a solid unit for every game takes a true legend in football.I feel me and Zanetti have got a good bond together in defence i hope we can do this next season and maybe we can add some silverware.Nsue has got the team the most goals and assists and has really surprised everyone in the premier league racking up a total of 9 goals and 10 assists with 3 MOTM's ,I feel without him we would be struggling.

Interviewer: Thanks for your time Matip have a good rest of the season.

Matip: You too, have a nice day.

Longest serving player!

Racking up a total of 104(7) apperances-scoring 9 goals and seting up 7 with getting only 3 MOTM'S.His average performance is 7.06 and has had 9 yellows and 1 red.

Shorpe take on bottom club Wigan

In a game full of if and butts,Shorpe will take on Wigan at DW stadium at 8.00pm.Shorpe are sitting in a respectively 10th place whereas for Wigan they sit bottom of the division in lowly 20th place. With the odds high on a Shorpe win and the bookies tipping Wigan for the drop.Manager Riece Monro-Manager of Shorpe has this too say.

Riece Monro

I have came to respect the Wigan boss and his team as i know how he feels in this current situation. In the first season i was hit with so much in division 2.I had to overcome injuries to top players, constantly falling in debt,3 games a week and of course the fact that i wasn't getting the wins half way through the season and the fact Wigan boss Dan will be in division 2 makes me want to say good luck mate.

But lets brush aside our league form and positions as i feel tonight is going to be tough for my lads as they know it wont be easy as most odds are suggesting. With me i like to think of football in a 50/50 way ,sometimes it's not your night and sometimes it is and that can be interpreted into tonights game as it doesn't matter how well you have done all season, the only thing what matters is the game coming up as anyone can play well on their day and if you give them the space and the ball they will slaughter you.

Last game vs Wigan ended in a disappointed 1-1 draw with Wigan dominating most of the stats with Manager Riece Monro looking to turn that around in tonights game.Riece Monro is hoping for the 3 points tonight and aiming for a set closer to surving in the premier league.A win tonight can see Shorpe leap to 8th place from 10th if results go there way if Manchester united and Liverpool lose.A lost can see us drop to 11th if Arsenal manage to win against West Bromwich Albion.A lost for Wigan would pile more misery on the team and manager and would mean they are exiting out of the Barclays premier league after 10 years.

Shorpe Pay$ Penalty against Wigan

Riece Monro was unable to prevent a Shorpe United defeat to Wigan Athletic.Where Shorpe United slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic in their Division 1 fixture.

Shorpe were unable to prevent a penalty going towards Wigan in the 84th min where Anatoliy TYMOSCHUK goes down in the box after a clumsy challenge by Saša PAPAC.

Riece Monro has this too say.I'm Absolute gutted with the result seeing as we only lost to a penalty in the 84th min.I feel if Papac held on too his man alot better he wouldn't of lost him and then make a late and clumsy challenge on Tymoschuk and of course we payed the penalty after that, but it wasn't meant to be for us tonight and we have to accept that is football sometimes.

The good thing is we still stay 10th with a 16 point gap ahead of the relagation zones and with 7 games left.Shorpe will be paying Premier league football again.Riece Monro also feels that the revenue in the Premier league is such a big difference compared to the Championship. If we look at it I'm earning 500k at home games and only losing 30k at away this could due to only have a wage bill of 450-500k at times and it seems that if you have a small wage bill you still can compete at the top level,if the table was sorted by wage bill then we would be rock bottom by a country mile.

All the players and everyone at Shorpe are excited at what the new season will bring where we can dream of silverware or another year in the Barclays Premier league.

Three Fresh Faces Join Shorpe

Florentin POGBA

Joining from CS Sedan for a price of 156k and Sebastián GALLEGOS.Pogba is overwhelming his chance to play for Shorpe in the Barclays Premier league.

Pogba has this to say: I'm very pleased that Shorpe decided to offer me a contract as it's not every day you get a chance to play in the Premier league at such a young age and i feel if i put the time and effort into it i can be there number 1 LB for the future and overtake the ageing Papac, but of course it wont be a easy job to do as the Premier league as a different playing style compared to ligue 2 and that's what going to be my first lesson.I have to say Thank you to the people at CS Sedan and Celta Vigo for giving me the support to become the footballer I am today without them i wouldn't be getting a chance to play in the Premier league at 21.

Benjamin Leroy

Joining from Tours FC for a price of 690k.Leroy is considering the task of overtaking Vorm in the near future for the number 1 spot.

Leroy has this to say: I'm quite shocked that Shorpe wanted me to join them, seeing as they are a decent side in the Premier league. But of course i couldn't turn down the chance to play in the premier league but it's great to get out of ligue 2.I feel i have Matured alot over the past couple of years and moving to England is another challenge which I'm excited to do.I will loved to go on loan to a smaller side in English football so i can get used to the playing style and Atmosphere as this can give me a few tips on English football and i hope one day I'm number 1 GK for Shorpe.

Dorian Lévêque

Joining from EA Guingamp for a price of 770k.Dorian Lévêque is hoping to become a first team regular with Shorpe.

Dorian Lévêque has this to say: I'm excited by my new challenge of playing in the Premier league and i hope i can get loaned out to gain some playing time,It will give me that feel good factor if i can get played a few times for Shorpe this season. But i will respect their decision if i don't as i do need to get fitter and cope with Premier league football.I'm also pleased to see Shorpe sign 2 other players who played in ligue 2 with me as I'm quite good mates with them both and now I'm can feel at home knowing there is two other people who can speak French as I've just seen there is no french players in Shorpe so it's a big Welcome that Riece Monro has signed 2 other french players.I will of course miss EA Guingamp as they have supported me since 2010 and made me the player I am now and i will miss my team mates but I feel its time to move on to bigger and better things.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Match Reports,Transfer news etc.

7777 Road to promotion

Barclays Premier League

Manchester City- No surprise that they are 4th.Currently one of the best teams in the league and performing well on the their first season back.Anything lower can be deemed as under performing and not living up to expectations. But Ben has built a good team over the past season where he has won the Championship title and finished 18th in his first season at Man city but surely he can't be blamed for their relegation. Can he ?.With the season drawing to an end.Ben has 7 games to try and clinch the title, currently 4 points away from Spurs this can be deemed an impossible task by many but Ben just thinks of it by 'taking 1 game at a time'.Famous Quote by Ben

Many tipped Ben for Relegation this season due to his poor first season but he has really proved his critics wrong and he maybe can get another silverware to his name.My opinion i feel Ben has done well seeing as his wage bill is £891,715 which i think is amazing for a team like Manchester City.To have over 13 players with a 90+ and 9 of them are over 92+ and world class just shows how well he can handle a big club.I don't feel this is a 1 season wonder i feel Manchester City will continue to be a force for many years aslong as they keep Ben at the club.

Colchester United- Well where do I start with this team ? Maybe their league position for a start.John has really got together an amazing squad and currently he is 5th,2 points behind 4th.Can he get top 4 in his first season in the Premier league ? Can Colchester hold on for 7 games,I believe they can but John shouldn't be to disappointed if he doesn't get top 4 as 2 seasons ago he was in League 1 and then he finished second in the Championship.I'm truly pleased for him and his achievements and Colchester united are a force to be reckoned with.

This is first time in History that Colchester United have been in the Premiership,so John holds the club record of being the first man to get them to the Premier league. But is this just a 1 season wonder like Shorpe ? or will Colchester United be like Millwall and challenge for the top 4 again next year.John has also stated that the revenue is perfect in the Premier league and alot better than the Championship,'as a consequence of promotion i have managed to improve my team in leaps and bounds, because i have not needed a big squad to cope with 3 games a week. If i still had three games a week there would be no way i would have the squad i have right now'.A famous quote by the man himself.

Shorpe United-Shorpe United - Where do we start with Shorpe United? After a difficult first season where they only narrowly avoided relagation from the second division finishing 19th and only 6 points clear of the relagation spots they went on to defy all odds the next season by finishing 4th in Division 2 and winning the play-off final against Newcastle United.

This leads us onto Shorpe's current position of 10th in Division 1. Many would say that Shorpe are over achieving, what with them having only 3 players rated 90 or over and a squad value of £110.4million, somewhat considerably lower than the next lowest total in the top division Preston with £124.3million. Can Shorpe finish the season within the top 10? Well it will be a tough task, what with some of the teams around them in the table, but under Riece's management anything is possible with this Shorpe side. I truly believe that Shorpe have a very good manager in Riece. he has got them playing a brand of football that works for them, and i wish him all the luck with this season and many season's to come.

One Season wonders? Only time will tell.

(Credit to John) (KangarooJack09) for putting this together

N Power Championship

Carlisle United-Currently 8th at the moment and only 1 point away from the playoffs but I feel Carlisle wont get into the play offs in the end due to the manager's activity,he only has 5 days to log in and with 3 games a week starting tonight he may just be doomed at the wrong time of the season. But other than that he has built a great team and they also have the best form in the last 6 games taking a total of 16 points from 18.If he fails to reach play offs he atleast they have Championship football next season which is always great for a newly promoted team.Under their manager he took them on a amazing run in the English Championship Cup final.

But we can't forget that they beat Histon 2-1 in the first round then went on to beat Rotherham United 2-0,In the third round they Beat Shorpe 3-2 and progress further to face Manchester United in the Fourth round. Many tipped them to lose big time, but once again they surprised the odds by drawing 1-1 and winning on penalties, was it going to be their year ? they then humiliated Aston Villa 3-0 and went onto thrash Darlington 6-2 in the Semi final.Never has there been two small teams reach the Semi final. They then lost 2-0 to Chelsea who brought them back to reality and never again has Carlisle come so close to the final.

Plymouth Argyle-Next up we have Plymouth Argyle. During the first season Plymouth narrowly missed out on promotion to Division 2 after finishing 3rd in the regular season and losing in the play-off final to Huddersfield Town. Although missing out on promotion was a set back for Plymouth, it seemed to be the making of them. During season 2 Plymouth immediatly bounced back and finished the season in 1st place with a total of 93 points, 2 points clear of second and 11 points clear of 3rd place.

This leads us up to Plymouth's current position of 12th place in Division 2. Although 12th, Plymouth are only 4 points away from the play-off spots which just shows how tight the division is. With this being Plymouth's first season in the division, i believe that manager David Crawford can be reasonably happy with there current position. David has built a very strong squad considering the team he started with and Gylfi Sigurdsson is considered to be the cream of the crop. Although there is still a chance of promotion for Plymouth, i can't see this season being there year. Another season in the second division could be just what they need and like the first season maybe such a set back could be the making of them again. I wish David and his team good luck for the rest of this season and many season's to follow.

Coventry City-Sitting 21st in the league and embarking on another poor season in the Championship where in the 1st season they finished a lowly 23rd place. After getting promoted last season Via play offs.Have they got what it takes to survive the Championship a second time around ? This season doesn't look so good for them as in there last 6 games they have picked 2 points up from 18 and haven't won in 10 league games. But with a new manager in charge can he guide them to saftey ? first he has to cope with the 3 games a weeks which is described as a Horrific Nightmare!.

Coventry can be known as a Yo-yo club as constantly over many years they have been up and down many leagues.Remember the times they were in the Premier league ?.They were a founder member of Premier League in 1992 and spent an impressive 34 consecutive seasons in the English top flight prior to their eventual relegation in 2001.There first season was their first time in 48 years where they got relegated to N Power League 1.

N Power League 1

Northampton Town -They finished as Champions last season in N Power League 2 with a total of 103 points and now they are 3rd in N Power league 1 with a total of 56 points.4 points of second with 11 games to go.Can they make it through the 3 games a week without burning any self esteem or fitness ? Has the manager got the tactical mind to last through the remainder of the season ?.It will be alot harder this season than last year. But Northampton have got a new manager in charge and he will face alot of pressure to keep them in the play offs spot as if you lose 1 game you could drop to 8th.Can they get back to back promotions ? Only time will tell on Wednesday 15th August at 8.00pm where fate will decide where they play next season. Will it be Automatic promotion or will it be the deadly play offs where the managers describe them as a lottery draw.

D.Lazovic is one of there star performers with 16 goals and 6 assists but can he carry that form up and send them to the championship if not weill he decide to hand in a tranfer request and leave the club for Championship or Premier league football.

Stockport County-Currently 5th in League 1 and they must be loving every second of it.Too finish 6th place last season and win by the play offs is a truly exciting way to go up.Everyone must be pleased with the progress the club has made in the past few seasons, but have they got what it takes to also get back to back promotion ? Stockport county have the same problem as Northampton, they also are 4 points away from second but if they lose 1 game, automatic promtion is almost gone in a blink of a second where they could be chasing playoffs if they don't make the right move. Can you smell the promotion to the Championship ? where the grass is fresher and greener and the football is a wonderful sight.A quote from the club: ‘I make my practices real hard because if a player is a quitter, I want him to quit in practice, not in a game.’

A club that hasn't had many long term managers in the past after a number of games. The best manager for Stockport though was Ryan Holmes who managed 80 games and getting 145 points for them till he left for Hull city.Stockport haven't had a manager like that since 14th of April 2012.

Hereford United-Hereford United - Onto Hereford United a team who have only recently gained promotion from Division 4. During season 1 in English Championship 7777, Hereford only managed a 14th placed finish and finished over 15 points behind the team who occupied the last play-off position. Season 2 was a totaly different proposition though. During the second season in English Championship 7777 Hereford seemed to totaly transform. They went from a team who finished in a very average 14th position to a team who finished 3rd only 3 points away from champions Northampton Town. How had this sudden transformation come about? Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that manager Paul Smut had been in charge of the team for a whole season rather than just one half of the season, but never the less the transformation had been complete and Hereford would be playing in Division 3.

This leads us onto Hereford's current position of 6th place in Division 3. Hereford are currently occupying the last play-off spot on goal differance ahead of another team who gained promotion alongside Hereford, Wrexham. 5 points away from the automatic promotion places, Hereford have a big chance of gaining back to back promotions for the first time in there history. In Paul Smut they have a manager who is very capable of getting them promoted again. Paul knows his stuff and he has been round the block a few times, so there is no questioning his tactical knowledge. I wish Hereford the best of look for this season and many season's to follow.

(Credit to John) (KangarooJack09) for putting this together.

Wrexham-Wrexham - Well, well, well talk about promotions and one team springs to mind. That team is Wrexham. A team that has risen from the depths of Division 5 to there current position of 7th in Division 3. During the first season in 7777, Wrexham finished with a total of 99 points, two points clear of second placed AFC Wimbledon and that guarenteed them automatic promotion to Division 4. During there one and only season in Division 4, yet again Wrexham managed promotion this time finishing 2nd only one point away from leventual eague winner's Northampton Town with a total of 102 points.

Onto the current season and Wrexham sit 7th outside the play-offs only on goal difference. Is a third promotion within 3 season possible? Well Barnaby Dowling certainly seems to know what it takes to get teams promoted and with there current situation they have every chance. 5 points away from the automatic promotion places and only outside the play-offs on goal difference. I am going to stick my neck on the line here and say "Yes they will get promoted" Barnaby is certainly proving that he is one of the best managers within the set up and I wish him good luck with this season and many season's to follow.

(Credit to John) (KangarooJack09) for putting this together

N Power League 2

Grimsby Town-Well what a season they had last season, deemed as one of the hardest leagues to get out of and Grimsby finished in a staggering 1st place with a total of 108 points which was 5 points higher than Forest green rovers 103 points and for 5 teams to get over 100 points and only 2 of them got promoted just shows how tight and competitive it is at the top of blue square bet premier. But this year was Grimsby Town year where they lost the play off final to Bath City in the first season which is really gutting for them. But credit to their manager for sticking with them for another season and he did get what he deserved the next season.

The current season now Grimsby Town are 13th and 12 points away from the play offs which shows they didn't have as much quality in division 4 as they're playing much more fierce opponents, but he can't to dissapointed with 13th as they're safe from relegation and are 25 points away from 23rd.So there can't be too much grief on the players as surly survival was the aim this season and now they can battle next season knowing the lessons of League 2 football.

Gateshead-Gateshead - Here we have Gateshead, a side who recently gained promotion to Division 4. During season one, Gateshead had a very average season and finished a dissapointing 15th place and amassed a total of only 58 points. Season 2 was a completly different story. Gateshead went from a team that finished in 15th place with a total of 58 points to a team who finished 4th with a total of 102 points. Along with Gateshead a further four teams broke the 100 points mark, which just shows how tough it is to get out of Division 5. Gateshead went on to beat Forest Green Rovers in the play-off final 3-0 and secure there place in Division 4.

We now move on too Gateshead's current position. Gateshead are currently sitting in a lofty 3rd place in Division 4, which just reflects how good of a job manager Cedd Cook has done. Can Gateshead secure there second promotion? It will be a tough job for Gateshead to complete, but with Cedd Cook in charge it will always be possible. He drills a mentality into his players that anything but the best is not good enough, so no matter whether Gateshead do get promoted or not, the passion and the drive will always be there. I wish Gateshead the best of luck for the rest of the season and many seasons to follow.

Norwich City Secure Play Off Place

After many ups and downs throughout the season, Norwich City have secured themselves a play off place with 2 games still to play. Last night, with 80minutes on the clock at Carrow Road, Marco Mossoro smashed the ball past the Burnley keeper to give the Canaries their first victory over the Lancashire club in EC 7777 history, and it brought them 3 points which secured the place in the play offs, after Sheffield United trounced Cardiff City 3-0.

It was only 3 weeks ago that Norwich's form was faultering at a terrible time. Having forced their way into play off contention, they found themselves in 3rd place, battling with Blackburn Rovers, in the chase of Crystal Palace and Newcastle. However they went on a run which saw them not pick up a win in 7 games, a run of form that saw them fall out of the play off places.

Something had to be done, and the squad regrouped, and the form began to return. A brilliant win at home to Middlesbrough kept them hanging on to their play off dream. Then just 2 days later this was bettered magnificently at home to Blackburn. By now Rovers were within touching distance of the automatic promotion places, this was helped by a run of just 1 defeat in 16 games, coincidently the run of form started with a 1-0 win at Carrow Road.

But City turned up to Ewood Park inspired and driven to push on, and produced arguebally the performance of their season as they smashed the would be Champions 5-1. The result proved that the bad form was just a blip, and the class of the side shone through as they buried their chances and emphatically brough the Rovers good run of form to an end.

What followed would see Norwich pick up 4 wins and a hard fought draw against Newcastle, and with the sides faultering around them, last night they were able to secure their play off place.

Norwich Manager Joe Robinson

At the start of the season we targeted a play off place and we've achieved that. There's still 2 games to go and we'll want to finish as high up the table as possible. I am abely delighted that we were able to turn things around, and push on again, as it has been a very long season. Some new faces have certainly helped us along the way but the squad as a whole have been brilliant. From Rene's clean sheets to Olivier's 8 goals since he's joined, everyone has played thier part. But the job's not finished. We have a big game at Palace on Monday, who are chasing an automatic place, and then we travel to Forest before we find out who we will be facing in the Play Off semis. Just like to congratulate Blackburn for the remarkable season they have had. They chased Palace and Newcastle down and have even gone on to win the Division, so that's a brilliant achievement for them. As for us, there's still plenty more to come

Javier Zanetti packs his bag for Brighton and Hove Albion move

Javier Zanetti calls time on Shorpe career with him planning to end his career at the Amex Stadium with a 10 million pound move.

Zanetti has enjoyed 2 good seasons with Shorpe where he has helped them achieve promotion via play offs to the premier league and also guaranteed premier league survival.

Manager comments: Ever since he joined us,i gave him the captain armband straight away without a stutter.I knew i done the right thing as he has had so much experience in captaining Inter Milan and with his age at 39.I wouldn't under estimate him in guiding us to Premier league survival. With him now leaving it gives someone eles who is younger a chance to captain Shorpe as we plan for a second season in the Premier league.

Deciding weather between Michel Vorm or Joël Matip for the captain armband to replace the club legend.
