Might have been suggested before...

Re: Might have been suggested before...

I have said this in a thread a while ago.

It would be nice to arrange your formations as you wish, but I think there would

have to be some sort of restrictions, as ilovebeer rightly said, people could

just stick 10 in defence, or 10 upfront, this would also help the cheaters/match

fixers of the game. So it would be nice to have some flexibility, but not TOO

much, maybe have them snap to a grid, but you'd still get to tinker with positions

a bit.

If we had a snap grid based around FM's model it would be good, but drag and drop would be difficult with player numbers and so on.

3-6-1 was the formation australia used

---------RCB------CB------LCB--------

Is that what you were thinking paul???

I was thinking more like this:

GK

CB

CB

CB

RDM

LDM

RM

LM

RAM

LAM

CF

With the two AM's shaped like the 4-3-2-1 formation, just behind the striker

When i used to play another game i think there restrictions were that you cud have no more than 6 in each part of the field. ie no more than 6 defenders, 6 midfielders etc.

* dreams of the days where the 3-6-1 formation crushed all... arhhhh ~*sighs*~ those were the days......

Re: Might have been suggested before...

This has gone slightly off-topic.

Something like Yarzy said - a maximum of 6 players for each position - is good (excluding keepers of course). But to be honest, the only 'real' formation missing from SM's current choice is the aforementioned 3-6-1. So if this was added, there really wouldn't be any need, unless you wanted to play 1-3-1-2-1-2. :)
