Re: Counter formations

Tried a defensive 4-5-1 against a 4-2-3-1 and lost 0-3. So far' date=' none of the counter formations I've used according to the instructions here have worked. Maybe it has something to do with the update...[/quote']

I guess I mentioned earlier that 3-5-2 works perfectly against 4-2-3-1, look at post #1754..

Re: Counter formations

I tried 532 defensive once' date=' got smashed. Used 532 sweeper yesterday and won 4-0, but haven't used it that much.

Hope I helped you there fella :)[/quote']

Thanks. I chose my formation before reading this and went with a 4-5-1, which I had seen draw 1-1 vs his 4-2-4 with a lesser team than mine, also away, defending well and limiting to 6/6/6 SH/SOT/C, and the only goal to 78th minute. My only difference was to set Xavi as playmaker at the top of the midfield, otherwise exact same tactics, thinking my stronger team would do better. Lost 1-2, all goals the first half, and the 4-2-4 scoring back to back early (9, 10), as I've seen in many other games, and 17/9/8 SH/SOT/C. I went to 10 men in the 2nd period, and tried 4-3-3 in the last 15, but no help. Probably lost the Div because of that game- a draw would have likely sealed it for me.

Just saw a lower-rated unmanaged 4-2-4 beat a better 5-3-2 (normal) 4-2 at home. My brain says it should be the reverse: 5D vs 4A, 3M vs 2M. I was tempted to try it, but I had a feeling SM would get it wrong.

One good thing about the new feature of unmanaged teams playing all formations is that it will now be easier to find data on the nature of less used formations. My feeling is that there is a formation that will destroy a 4-2-4 regularly, just a matter of finding it. I've seen a 5-4-1, a 3-4-1-2 and a 3-4-2-1 win, but could just be one-offs.

Re: Riferimento: Re: Counter formations

Confused.

In first page you have put 442 >> 352

IMO, 3-5-2 is the best formation against 4-4-2 normal. I do not have much experiences losing to a unmanaged side that using a 4-4-2 normal with 3-5-2. However sometimes, it does happen. But I would said, 3-5-2 is the best formation against 4-4-2 normal.

Re: Counter formations

SM on facebook:

Interesting that' date=' now unmanaged will play random formations and make life even more difficult for us... :o[/quote']

defending title against managed teams would be easier, I think

I've never won against 4-2-3-1 with 3-5-2

I do have experiences winning 4-2-3-1 with 3-5-2. However, I placed 2 forward arrows on the 2 wingers. In this sense, they could also help up in the attack, which meant that I have 4 forwards to pound on their defenders. While the 3 midfielders could either help in the attack or track back when I'm countered attack. With this formation, I usually win by 2 clear goals.

Team Instructions

Tackling Style: Hard

Mentality: Attacking

Passing Style: Mixed

Attacking Style: Mixed

Tempo: Fast

Pressing: All Over

Play Style

Counter-Attack

Men Behind Ball

Tight Marking

Play Offside Trap

Use Playmaker

Use Target Man

maybe those 2 arrows make the difference. I'll try it sometime :)

Does anyone tried to counter 4-4-2 normal & 4-3-3- normal with 4-2-3-1' date=' does this work or no? What was the result, thanks.[/quote']

my experience tells that 4-4-2 normal works against 4-2-3-1 :D

Re: Counter formations

Just to check' date=' 4-5-1 works against 3-4-2-1 right? ._.

Have a Charity shield match tonight.[/quote']

My Barcelona beat a Real Madrid team that's using 3-4-2-1 by the score of 3-1 yesterday. I'm using 3-5-2 btw, with 2 forward arrows on the 2 wingers. Not sure if 4-5-1 works against 3-4-2-1. No experience with it.

*My Barcelona has 1 average rating higher than that of Real Madrid.

I'd do the same with 3-5-2 but my opponent is a good 2 ratings above me.

(91 vs 93)

So I thought I'd opt for more players at the back. :/

Thanks for the input by the way.

Thanks guys :D

I'll just go tweak my tactics now :P

Just a question... Should my midfield trio consist of a DM?

I'm playing Ramires and Kroos, thinking of putting in Lars Bender. Then have Lewandowski upfront with Falcao.

Or I could play Ramires, Kroos and Lewa. Then have Damiao and Falcao upfront.

In short, a 89 DM or a 90 AM? :)

Edit:

Should the playmaker be Ramires or Kroos? Ramires is rated higher, though Kroos is an AM. :/

Kroos as AM

Play Bender and Falcao + Lewa up front

Won 4-3. ._. Very very very close match to say the least. Ozil, Benzema and Aguero probably too much for my 3 defs to handle :X But I won, yay. Thanks a bunch mate.

That said, I found that 4-2-3-1 doesn't really work against 4-3-2-1 :/

Beaten twice. Is it just me? ._.
