Valencia Sign De Bruyne

After a quiet week at the Mestalla, Ben Harris finally completed a transfer and it was a big one. Genks rising Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne has signed for the la liga side with 22 year old Daniel Parejo and Youth player Carles Gil going the other way. Part of the deal see's De Bruyne go back to Genk for the rest of the season.

I'm very happy to welcome Kevin to the team, we want him to develop as a player and as a person. So we have kept out at Genk for now and we'll welcome him back at the end of the season where he will hopefully be a huge benefit to the squad.

Valencia's Start to the Season

It has been a very disappointing start to the season to say the least. Failing to win in any of their first three games.

1-5 Zaragoza

0-2 Gremio

3-3 Betis

Harris is under massive pressure from the Valencia supporters tonight as they face a mediocre Santander. There is some positive news though as rising Italian Star Sebastian Giovinco has joined from Parma with Ricardo Costa and Pablo Piatti going the other way.

Valencia Continue Poor Form

After picking up their first point of the season Valencia have returned to their ways with a shocking 3-1 defeat to Racing Santander. Santander managed only three shots on target but with great efficiency they all hit the back of the net. This result leaves Valencia bottom of the league.

Valencia On the Rise

After the defeat to Racing, Valencia changed their formation which saw them lose both of their big games 2-1 against Real and Barcelona. With plenty of positives coming out of these performances, they stayed faithful to their methods and managed a decent 1-1 draw against FC Sion. Next up where two games which Valencia needed to get some points against if they were serious about their SMFA aspirations. Back-to-back wins against Espanyol and Sociedad, see Valencia climb off the bottom of the table to 13th, with Osasuna up next, Valencias fortunes have certainly turned around, these past few games.

Valencia Solidify 2nd Place

4-1 Mallorca

0-1 Villarreal

After a stunning 4-1 demolition of Mallorca, Valencia fell at the penultimate hurdle at home to Villarreal, the loss confirms that Harris will finish the season 2nd with Valencia. After a disastrous start, a mid-season surge saw them climb to table with a big chance of winning the championship, but Madrid were always slightly out of their grasp, despite Valencia doing the double over Madrid earleir on in the season.

The last game see's Harris play Bilbao managed by his close friend Preppens, Bilbao need a win if they want to secure a champions shield place but, Harris has promised to play a strong side as a thank you to the fans for being great all season.

Valencia 3-0 Bilbao

Goals coming from Falcao, Jonas and Tino Costa. Valencia dominated every aspect of the game and ran out comfortable victors. The win meant the team only finished one point behind victors Real Madrid.

Benjamin Harris spoke after the game;

What a way to finish the season, I'm proud of all the players for a great achievement. But we won't stop here, the attacking football we play every week will continue next season as we look to conquer europe and the league.

Balotelli arriving at Valencia's Training Ground

Today Valencia have announced the signing of Italian Superstar Mario Balotelli, the striker was always likely to leave a Manchester City where he saw fell under favour of manager Stephen Marshallsay. The deal saw Valencia lose two promising players in Sofiane Feghouli and Kevin De Bruyne.

Here's what the manager had to say on the deal;

I'm quite surprised we managed to pull this deal off, I put in an orginal offer and was countered with this. I was unsure at first but after weighing out my options it became quite clear it had to be done. The prospect of Mario playing upfront with Radaemel Falcao is relishing and I can't wait to get started with him in training.

James Rodriguez Chooses Valencia

After Porto decided to make 20 year-old James Rodriguez available to transfer, the Colombian only wanted to go to one place, and that was the Mestalla with Benjamin Harris.

This makes it two signings in as many days with Balotelli joining up with his teammates yesterday afternoon. It is thought there are still a few new faces to come, Harris has recently said a defender is required it won't come as any surprise to see a new defender sign up within the next few days.

Former Inter star Yuto Nagatomo has joined Valencia in a deal that see's Azevdeo Silvio and Jelle Vossen go to the San Siro. This will complete the defence Harris has been trying create after last week's arrive of Gonul.

Here's what Harris had to say;

Yuto will complete the defence, we are now looking at the one signing for the central midfield. We have players available to use in P/E deals but it will be hard to find the right player. We'll try out the new players in saturdays friendly against PSV which we are all looking forward to.

In the midst of all the transfers that have been going on lately, Harris has always stated that he would consider selling one of his better players for two good strong squad players. With the arrival of Atletico stars Lopez Adrian and Abdoulay Konko that transfer has now been completed.

Start of the Season Review

Three games into the season and Valencia have started in the manner that they finished the last. With the arrival of great players like Mario Balotelli and James Rodriguez to bolster the squad, there is an even bigger reason to expect the unexpected this season.

Hercules 2 - 4 Valencia

Perfect start to the season with the goals coming from Falcao, Shaqiri and a double from Balotelli saw the win. Star player Falcao picked up the MOTM in a game that couldn't have gone any better bar the sending off of veteran midfielder David Albelda.

Valencia 1 - 3 Real Madrid

The 2nd place finish last season saw Valencia qualify for the champions cup and ironically they had to play the team they beat to 2nd place Real Madrid. The game was very close, Valencia playing a 2nd string against Real Madrid's 1st XI. A goal from Falcao was not enough to see off Madrid with their 3 coming from Marcelo, Kaka and Ozil.

Valencia 5 - 1 Villarreal

Valencia failed to score against Villarreal last season, where they fell 1-0 and drew 0-0 to the side in yellow. But this season saw a change in fortune as they smashed in five goals to take them up to 3rd place level on points behind the big two. This game saw goals come from Shaqiri, Rodriguez, Alba and star man Falcao grabbing two. Shaqiri got MOTM for his constant threat down the left wing which caused Musacchio a world of problems.

Re: GC153 - Valencia + Bilbao Reports

ValenciaLogo.png

Valencia Reach the Pinnacle

We have managed to carry out a good run of form, Falcao and co. have carried on where they left off last season.

Numancia 0 - 4 Valencia

This game was typical of how we have started the season, completely dominating stats and bullying the opposition. The goals came from Balotelli, Shaqiri and two from Jonas.

Valencia 3 - 1 Sporting

We went into this game full of confidence looking to make it 4 wins from 4, the stats again in our favour and the breakthrough was made on the 14th minute by star man Radamael Falcao. They got a reply back in the 57th minute through Leon, it took a while to get the lead back, but it eventually happened in the 72nd minute as Balotelli slotted home a penalty and Shaqiri managed to get a third with a minute to go.

Sevilla 4 - 0 Valencia

We were aware of the strength of this Sevilla outfit, but we weren't expecting to lose by a margin as big as this. We faced a challenge from the off as they went up after one minute through Gary Medel. This loss was a crushing blow, but luckily Real Madrid slipped up and we stayed level on points at the top spot.

Valencia 3 - 0 Racing Santander

Santander were a surprise package last term, upsetting alot of teams and managing to get a european shield spot. Unfortunately they are no longer managed and every team now fancies their chance for three points in this fixture. We dominated from the off, goals came from Falcao and Shaqiri got two.

Valencia1st6Games.png

Here is table after six games, and the first time my Valencia have hit top spot since the world started. We have been great since the midpoint of last season, hopefully we can maintain our form and pull off a massive upset.

Valencia vs Bilbao Preview

Last Six Games

ValenciavsBilbao.png

Looking over the past six games, it's Bilbao who will go into this clash as the favourite. Winning five of their last six, their only slip-up being a shock 1-0 defeat in the Spanish shield to AD Alcoron. While have won three of their last six, the other result's being a 0-0 draw to Rubin the the Champions cup, a disastrious 4-0 defeat to Sevilla in the league and a poor performance that left them a 0-0 draw with a mediocre Sociedad.

Previous Meetings

PreviousMeetings.png

There seem's to be a pshycological block for Bilbao when these teams come to meet, Bilbao boast some of the worlds most experiences and recognised players, yet when they face up against Harris' side they are unable to perform.

Key Battles

Radamael Falcao vs Ferreira Lucio

Valencia's talisman is pivotal to their success, however tonight he'll be coming up against one of the best CBs in the continent in Lucio. Bilbao haven't he best defensive record in the league, leaking nine goals in seven games and this an area which could determine the outcome of the result should either player reach the performances they are capable of.

Xherdan Shaqiri vs Douglas Maicon

Shaqiri has been Valencia's best performer without a doubt so far this season, top goalscorer, one assist and a MOTM to top it all off. However form goes out of the window when up come up against one of the best right backs in the world. The Swiss winger will have to be on it from the off, he is to have any joy against the Brazilian Maestro.

Adil Rami vs Diego Milito

Milito is Athletic's top scorer, hitting five in seven appearances, although one must feel the emergence of Rami as one of the best CBs in the world that this may be too much for the ageing Argentine. Rami was instrumental in Valencia's runner's up finish last season.

Prediction

Valencia 2 - 1 Bilbao

Valencia Results Update

After having a great start to the season, we have come across a mid-season slump which has seen a mixture of results. However we still sit in a healthy 4th spot, alot better than we sat this time last season.

3-1 Athletic Club

5-3 Getafe

4-2 Real Betis

5-1 Deportivo

0-2 Real Madrid

0-1 Zaragoza

2-1 Vallecano

3-3 Mallorca

1-2 Barcelona

3-0 Levante

Along with this slump, we have also had a premature exit from the champions cup which we did so well to qualify for last season, it's going to be tough to try and get us back up there again this season, but we have the quality to do so.

We crashed out after the following results in the groups stages;

1-3 Real Madrid

0-0 Rubin

3-2 Everton

0-2 Real Madrid

0-1 Rubin

We still have Everton left to play, but Real Madrid and Rubin have both already secured a spot in the next round, which leaves us two both trying to avoid the wooden spoon.

Papadopoulous Joins Valencia

543352_437213666311876_240289124_n.jpg

After hitting the halfway point of the season and not signing any players since the season began, Harris has jumped into the market again. Valencia despereatley needed another defender to act as cover, and they've not just picked up a guy to make up the numbers, they've signed a potential superstar in Kyriakos Papadopoulous from FC Schalke.

The signing comes at a price, it see's a huge four players go in the opposite direction towards Liverpool FC. None of the players made an impact at the club, and Harris stated that none of them joined Valencia for big prices so he was willing to let them go.

The four players that have left the club; Diego Alves, Souza Andre, Pablo Sarabia and Alexandu Epereanu.

Here's what Harris had to say on the transfer;

We have signed Kyriakos at a massive price, but in a years time we may be looking at one of the best centre backs in the game today. He has all the attributes to make it at the top, and at just 20 years old he's got plenty of time to grow and shape him game. We've already got top defenders here in the likes of Adil Rami, Jordi Alba and Victor Ruiz who I'm sure will help the lad develop and adapt to Spanish football.

Valencia Win Spanish Shield!

11-gold-larger.png

Ben Harris finally claimed his first honour with Valencia today, winning the Spanish Shield by defeating minnows Real Murcia. It took Harris 73 games to taste silverware, and after the post-game interview it seem's he's got the desire for more.

copa-del-rey-valencia.jpg

The First of Many?

We've worked so hard to put this talented bunch of players together, and everywhere you look there is quality. Right from Guaita in goal to Falcao up front, there's class and we've got to try and maintain this squad and add to it. We've got the league and cup to look forward to, and we'll do our best to bring success for our fans who were great as always today.

Ander Herrera Finally Signs!

27-Ander-Herrera-crop.jpg

Valencia have finally managed to agree a deal for long term target Ander Herrera. Harris had been tracking to attacking midfielder since his days at Bilbao, but his move to Internazionale delayed the eventual deal that saw Herrera join the club with Lopez Adrian and Samuel Inkoom going the other way.

Valencia Revolution Report

Valencia have risen to the top of La Liga, now being recognised as a team who can compete with the top two. This report aims to recap where Benjamin Harris started with the team and where the team is now. Looking at key transfers and key moments within the past season an a half.

When Harris took over;

466223_Valencia_C_F_,_S_A_D_.jpg

There was a good base for Harris to work on, with the likes of Banega and Soldado in the team their was deals to be made to improve the depth and overall look of the squad.

Key Transfers

3580_1336692874.jpg

Radamael Falcao

Falcao was a key signing at the Mestalla, this signing signalled the intent of Harris to improve the strength of the squad. Falcao is now the talismen to the squad, and it is unlikely that we'll ever see him leave the club.

31561_1340411211.jpg

Mario Balotelli

This deal was somewhat of a surprise, Harris put in a half hearted bid for the Italian and the City Manager seemed very happy with the offer at hand. Since his arrival the Italian hasn't held back, creating a lethal partnership with Falcao, the pair have scored 23 goals between them in 21 games.

40667_1342944022.jpg

Xherdan Shaqiri

Shaqiri arrived at the club with fellow Basel teammate Granit Xhaka. Xhaka hasn't quite made the cut for the 1st XI yet. But Shaqiri has took La Liga by storm, he's turned into a goalscoring machine. Cutting in from the left scoring goals and providing plenty of chances for his attacking teammates.

What Harris has created;

Transfer Rumours

mysteryman.jpg

Harris has commented in the past on the current startling lineup and has stated his wish for a new DM. Previous targets Yohan Cabaye and Yann M'vila have each respectively joined Chelsea and Internazionale. He has turned his attention to Zenit's Lars Bender and is understood to be awaiting a decision from the manager Adam Devitt in regards to the current offered on the table; which is understood to involve Jonas and Juraj Kucka.

M'vila Close to Valencia Move?

Rumours are growing that Valencia are in deep talks with Internazionale manager Nathan Prince over the possible transfer of star midfielder Yann M'vila. For months Harris has scoured the market for a suitable defensive midfielder, but as of yet has failed to find his man.

yann-m-vila_12043_w250.jpg

M'vila is a full French International

It is believed Inter want a deal involving James Rodriguez and another player in the deal. Valencia have agreed to use the young Colombian as part of the deal, and the only obstacle left to decide is who will join the 20 year old to the San Siro. Valencia are reportedly trying to shift Victor Ruiz in the deal, but Inter are after another attacking midfielder and are looking at Sebastien Giovinco, a player who's been pivotal to the success of Valencia.

James-Rodriguez-4.jpg

Rodriguez on his way out?

There are other options available to Harris, but he has recently stated the demands of his targets respective clubs are comical;

We've inquired several potential targets and the response we've had is laughable. No club has been looking for a fair deal bar Inter, we've been getting responses such as Rami and Shaqiri for one defensive midfielder. I won't name the clubs and put them in shame, but they seriously need to reconsider their transfer policy is they're to get any deals done in the future.

Skrtel Close to Valencia Move?

A day after the rumored approach of M'vila, comes another fascinating story. According to reports Harris has approached Genoa about the possible signing of former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel. Harris has been looking to bolster the defensive side to this team for a while now, and there's no doubt that Skrtel will improve on an already mean defence.

Skrtel_1281942a.jpg

The offer is apparently consists of defender Victor Ruiz and squad player Juraj Kucka. Genoa are currently having a marvelous season, sitting at the top of Serie A, 4 points clear of defending champions Inter.

Valencia Agree Sponsorship Deal with Sony

With Valencia's emergence as one the best sides in the world, there has been a mass of companies looking to get their logo across the famous white shirt of Valencia. Having recently gone the past few seasons without a sponsor, Valencia have broke the trend and can announce that they have agreed a deal with electronic giants Sony.

A 5 year contract was signed earlier today, which is thought to earn Valencia a sum around £97 million euros across the next five years. The new deal also see's Nike take the decision to change the away and alternate kits for the side.

Rami Puts in Transfer Request!

This past season and a half, Rami has been the man whom Valencia have relied on so much to keep the defence together. He is the key to the mean defence that is recognised as one of the best in the world alongside Yuri Nagatomo and Jordi Alba.

This request has come out of nowhere, Valencia have been competitive in every domestic competition; currently 2nd in the league, winning the Spanish Shield and still in the Cup. The teams performances cannot be a factor to the players change of heart.

Nothing-can-stop-me,-claims-Valencias-Adil-Rami-La-Liga-126815.jpg

Rami for Valencia

The Frenchmen currently has 2 years left on his current £44,440 per week contract. It is thought the player wants to challenge himself in another league and there is a handful of clubs looking to take on the player should he leave the Mestella.

Lyon, Internazionale, Sevilla, Tottenham and CSKA are only a few of many who are after the players signature. Harris has stated that despite handing in a request that the player will no be leaving cheaply;

Adil has expressed his desire to leave the club and there is little me or the club can do to stop this from happening. I'll have a sit down with Rami and see what his thoughts are, and I'll take whatever action is in the best interest of the clubs and player.

We've had contact with a few clubs about potential deals, but they're just words at the minute. If Rami is to go we'll be looking for two players in return such is the quality of the lad.
