Re: The Fluffy Ligue 1 Thread

could somebody tell me why Doria isnt even on the bench today either?

Okay' date=' i understand that he was bought by the club without Bielsa's consent, but being so stubborn as to not even call him on the bench when you have like 3 central defenders out, just to prove a point to the club and show how unhappy you are is just childish behaviour. And meanwhile the persos who is penalised the most is the player itself, who is literally wasting precious time to adapt to european football.

Doria would be getting minutes in every other single team in europe, not saying hed be regular, but hed be gathering some minutes for sure, but not at Marseille , heck he desnt even get called on the bench when the team is short on defenders...

I really do hope he gets a winter move to a team that can appreciate him and give him the minutes he deserves.

I really hate these kind of situations, Scuffet for example is no different to me... Potential wasted on the bench because the club wants to 'preserve' him...[/quote']

I think he should have made it to the bench but I can understand why he does not want to debut the player against a strong PSG side.

im not expecting a debut against psg, but the fact that he isnt even on the bench, with like 3 defenders out injured/disqualified, makes you understand that bielsa doesnt consider Doria at all, and this is mainly due to the fact that the club bought him without his permission, so for Bielsa is more of a 'lesson' he is trying to impose to the club rather than accepting the clubs decision and giving the player a fair shot.

I dont expect Doria to play every game and to feature in such big matches, but at least give him a chance... ANd Bielsa doesnt look like he wants to do that, so as i said, wasted talent, id rather have Doria go on loan somehwere where he could be utilized, in some lower rated french side, or in the spanish/portuguese liga where he would have less language problems.

I know that Beilsa never gave permission to the club to buy him but now he is there I am sure he will play him when he thinks he is up to scratch, he played for the OM2 in the afternoon 4-2 win against Aix Les Bains, maybe he feels that he needs time to adapt to the new surroundings as he is only a kid and in a new country.

Last year Marseille finished 6th. Right now, Marseille is 1st.

Keep on blaming him for not using Doria but as long as he's doing the job, Bielsa must be good on something.

I'm pretty sure of this .

But nobody is saying that Bielsa is a bad manager. What people want is that Doria gets a few opportunities to play or go to a club in January where he will play if he can't get those chances at Marseile.

Did I say anywhere that you're saying he's a bad manager? Do I have to say the same thing again ?

As long as he's first nobody can tell him how to play and who to use. It's like criticizing Mourinho for not using Zouma, you get what I'm saying?B)

Zouma is being utilized in cup and cl games.

Im not saying Doria should become an integral part of the team straight away, but what i do want is for Bielsa to give the kid a fair chance just like Zouma is getting his at Chelsea, how bad could it be for bielsa to debutDoria in the last10 minutes of a match you're confortably Winning, it would boost the player confidence and, if hes actually good, he would find another option for his team, but instead he keeps trying to make a point that he is unhappy that the club is taking action without his consent

I was about to type that first line of yours. And at the very least name him on bench like what Mourinho does.

Adding on, Chelsea's first choice pairing have yet to be injured or suspended, so the need is not evident. But Marseille has got problems at the back and would rather covert Romao to a CB than to play a specialist CB.

"Doria is being frozen out because Bielsa has drawn his line in the sand: not my signing, not playing him". ;)

This is the story of Bielsa's life mate. I don't know how old you are but if you're old enough to remember the first years of Marcelo with Bilbao then you wouldn't be shocked and surprised for what he's doing right now in Marseille lol.

Bielsa always had many lovers and many haters. Hence, you'll either love him or hate him there's no other choice ;]

P.S. Zouma was just an example don't stick to it.

Re: The Fluffy Ligue 1 Thread

In my mind Veretout is a high potential young player ..maybe a future 90 ! am i wrong? you think he will get some rise in the next review too?

A +1 in the next review is a sure thing imo. I'd say he could even get a +2. But what I think will happen is this: SM will likely give him a +1 now. Then, after this season ends, he should be at least 88 rated (if he keeps this up). If Nantes get into Europe, I'm almost positive Veretout will reach 89 after the 2014/2015 Ligue 1 is over.

I'm confident Veretout will hit 90 one day (provided he doesn't get unlucky, like being stopped by serious injury problems). I believe he'll peak at 91 or 92, tops.

Re: The Fluffy Ligue 1 Thread

Possibly. He fully deserves it imo. And Verratti to 91 also.

Matuidi (like Sirigu) should have reached 92 a while ago. I guess Verratti will get a +1 in the post-season review.

Lacazette will hit 90 IMO if he doesn't I'll quit the game!!!

I'd give him (and Gignac) a +1 in the next review.

if marseille stay on right track' date=' can n'koulou get 91 by the end of the season?[/quote']

If OM finish top 2, I'd give that a 55/60% chance. If they win Ligue 1, there's like a 90% chance of a +1 for N'Koulou imo.

Why do you think he should rise only in the post-season review mate? He's being PSG's playmaker for 2 years now and he's an amazing player. Just like Matuidi should be a 92 by now, Verratti should definitely be a 91. He's clearly underrated at 90 imo.

Because I believe SW will be conservative in the mid-season review. After seeing how the season pans out, I guess they'll make the most significant changes.

Besides Verratti isn't 91 material yet imo. He's not as good as Pogba, for instance.

SW may be conservative in this review, but Verratti deserves it since last season imo, when PSG won the league and did fairly well in CL, and his performances were great. It's hard to compare him to Pogba because they have different playing styles, but even saying Pogba is better, he will much probably rise to 92 next changes, so he will keep being rated lower. And tbf Verratti is better or just as good as a lot of 91 rated players mate.

Maybe, a lot of players are 91 these days: Borja Valero, Glen Johnson, Mikel... :o

Verratti is certainly a better player than any of those. :D

Definitely lol :o I see you're not a big fan of him, but try to watch him more mate (if you don't), the lad is quality. Still needs to improve some aspects, but he's already amazing.

Re: The Fluffy Ligue 1 Thread

Could anyone enlighten me on how good Marseille's Benjamin Mendy is?

I watched a couple of games, and he seemed like a good player, but i was wondering if he can aspire at prestigious goals, such as playing in the NT, becoming, in SM, a 91+ rated player? etc xD

Big-bodied, all-action defender who prefers to attack rather than track. He should continue to improve and become less rash with more games..

Not many chances for him to play in the NT, in the coming future. There are better LB's around such as Digne,Kurzawa and Amavi who has been great this season.
