CLIFTONVILLE 1 - 1 Montrose

A point for Cliftonville against Scottish side Montrose.Sitting bang slap mid table with 4 games gone.

Transfer news sees 4 Italian youngsters join Cliftonville, this is a long term investment says manager Kev.

Other news.....

The fans at Solitude were some what distracted from their own match as news via radio was relayed of the big game over at Windsor in div 1.Cally the Linfield manager must have partied to much the night before as his team sheet had Thomas Stewart a CF playing in goal which led to The Blues heaviest defeat in History 12-3:D

Clintonville then managed to get back into the game with a 26th minute SCANNEL strike

on the 27th minute the young turkish midfeild supremo A KESEROGLU had gotten sent of for time wasting to add to alloas woes

Drogheda Tussle Through

Drogheda Have advanced to the Quater Final of the Cup were they will play Alloa Athletic @ Home, Who insedently they must now play an amazing 3 times in 5 Days ( A SM Record Perhaps) after there hard fought 1-0 Victory over the Seagulls of Torquay.

The goal Scored after six Minutes from Shane Barrett after a poor clearence from the keeper saw Barrett calmly slot home into an almost empty net as the keeper tried but failed to run back across his goal, Things would get worse for the sea siders 6 minutes later when they had a man sent off, Despite this they fought & matched drogheda well, & this was the way the scores would stay for the remainder with the 6 or so Thousand Supporters in view

Alloa Battle Into The Next Round

Alloa athletic are into the quarter finals of the 4 nations cup thanks to a 2-0 win over cork city

it didnt start well for alloa as cork had a few good chances but failed to take them, the game died ndown until 4 minutes until half time when colin mcmenimen slotted home from 15 yards the second half started well for alloa and the big scotsmen stepped up again to fire the wasps into the next round.

Spence had this to say

i am proud of my boys and they have earned a win that see's us continue in our quest of wining the trophy, cork wer well organised but they were rather dirty and ended up with 6 bookings,

In the next round the wasps are away to drogheda united in a clash that sees us play them for the 3rd time inside 5 days,so i would want to use squad rottation in order to keep every player fresh

Finally

3 more players should be in the squad by saturday night but nne of them will make ther debuts just now

Jason Gavin Showed Once again Why he can Attack as well as defend when he hit a half volley into the roof of the net after Alloa could only half clear a corner kick after 2 Minutes to Get the Goals Started,

After 15 Minutes Ben Sahar Smashed in to make it 2 to show why he's a highly rated Iareali.

After 38 Minutes however Alloa got themselfs back into the game when Goossens smashed home after a neat lay off by his team mate,However just two Minutes later Ben Sahar Popped up for his 2nd of the game to put some breathing space bewteen the sides with a Cracking 20 yard Stike the Commentator Described the goal saying "2 Keepers Couldent have Stoped That". & He was probily Right.

The game twinkled out after that till the 87 Minute when Alloa gave the home team a slight scare when CoLin McNemamin Got on the end of a long ball,

Alloa Pushed the Drogs after that try grab an Equaliser but they were caught on the brake ob the wing by Danish Youth International Mads Laudrup Who ran all the way from the Half Way Line to tap home from inside the box.

A big game next for the Drogs as they Travel Down the motorway to Dublin to face Table Toppers Bohemians in there Local Derby for this season.
